How to drive traffic to the documents on document sharing sites?

I want to submit some docs to document sharing sites. What must i do so that they get more views, downloads?

    Usually the best way is to get those documents indexed--by getting links to them from other sites. If someone's searching for a particular doc, and it shows up in the search results, that's one way.

      It's not that easy to get traffic on those kinda sites imo. There are thousands of documents on one site. And most of these sites don't even come up in the search engines. Also, if you can even drive traffic to these documents, why not just drive them to your main page(A squeeze page or your affiliate page)?

    From my tests. The top performing pdf/slide sharing sites are slideshare and authorstream. If you can focus on these two, you'll get majority of the traffic.

    I was able to get around 400 + views to my last slideshare presentation within just around 24 hours.

    But my next one is going to be more than 1000 views in 24 hours. It is possible with the right tactics.

    Just a couple of tips to cross the 3 figure views mark in 24 hours -

    - Make your first slide so attractive that people would want to click.
    - Add lots of images
    - Avoid paragraphs and go for bullet points
    - Get maximum buzz within the first few hours
    - Enjoy the snowball effect...
