Simple Service Make Big Profits, But need good Marketing plan

Im in the web design business for few years now. Recently planned to start PSD to HTML/ Wordpress service and it seems more profitable and gives a regular income to the business.

Our marketing plan was :
Search the Google for web design companies(since our targeting clients are other web design companies) in whatever the selected country and get an email list. And send them an email saying we are here to offer you this service for a reasonable price. So far we have sent nearly 300 emails and only 2 people have replied us. From those two, we got only one client to work with.

We started marketing this with two advantages:
  1. I have studied the major companies who are in this PSD to HTML business and we are offering good & competitive price than them.
  2. I can assure our coding is in a very good standard, since the only client we got(They are a web design company based in Australia) always giving very good comments on our work.

I know something is wrong with this marketing plan. I just need to fix it . Does anybody has a better solution to reach the clients and say "just try our service once?"

Are there any companies which we can outsource our marketing stuff?
(please note that we don't have a large capital to invest on huge advertising programs)

or do we have to change the way we approach?

        Congratulations on working in a niche area.

        I personally don't work on web design but do so with web designers.

        Only suggestions I can make is:
        1) To check to Sales Copy/ Email campaign you are sending
        2) To start blogging and publishing your work which is visible to potential clients.

    Please....educate , me on this. Why, would another web-design firm..hire another web design firm. The only reason, I can think of, is that maybe their work-load is heavy and need help. Maybe, they would hire...a firm that is an expert in seo.....but why else?

      A web design company outsourcing PSD to HTML service is not a rare thing. It's very cheap and time saving thing for them especially if they deal with some reliable third party.

      I have been working with many number of clients who outsourced their work, when I was working as a web designer. Now I have started my own firm and I'm trying to find some people who need our service.

      There are lots of people out there who only do the website design ( in Photoshop ) and need the coding part get done.

        I agree, I'm the same boat as you. A couple of months asked the same question here.

        The goal is to sign up design companies, once one's in you should get a constante stream of work.

        I tried the same approach as you but only got one client too. Had a chat about this with someone in the industry and he told me he was sending 500 emails per day, and that way he managed to close several clients.

        I tried this strategy for a while but didn't get the same result. I even tried contacting company owners directly, but didn't have much luck either. I guess my copy wasn't that good or they get tons of emails like these everyday.

        From time to time I get a client through my warriorforum post, but not much.

          Thanks for sharing your experiences. This monday we got another client, so hope the cilent base will increased.

          Actually I'm afraid will facebook or Google advertising programs help with this?
          Or are there any any other ways?
