Can You Sell A Totally Different Niche To Your List?

So here's the thing...I have a list of peope in one niche but I think that I might make more money if I'm selling something totally different to them. The demo is the same so I think they'd convert. Also, I've only emailed this list once or twice so it's pretty much a brand new list (3 weeks old) without much contact from me. However, I'm just confused about how to get them onto a new list and how to make that transition while preventing them from hitting the spam button.

Does anyone know the best way to do this?

I'm not sure I'd even want to try. They expect and deserve better, and my open-rates would possibly drop like a stone if I tried.

The last thing I want, with my subscribers, is to look like "just another marketer": that would defeat the entire trust-creating, respect-creating, credibility-creating process that comprises "list-building".

It depends on what you are promoting. We all use toilet paper, (well most of us) so it would have to be something we all can use. We are all human beings, so I imagine you can market physical products to them.

For example, if you have a list of guitar players, I don't see why you couldn't market Halloween costumes to them in October.

I used to own a site selling a penis enlargement book... thousands of subscribers.

In my email signature, i put a link there that said, "Refer a friend and receive a free money making book!".

Everyday i would get around 5-10 referrals and downloads for this offer. So to answer your question, it all depends on what you're offering, the relationship with your list (i was "loose" with my list... cursing and everything), and if you prove to them that what you're trying to "cross-promote" is something that you're actually doing.

You can sell something else to your current list. Or you can send out an email introducing them to another list andoffering themthe chance to sign up, thus starting a new list.

I have seen gurus send me a different offer and have a new squeeze page so I'm on different lists with the same person.

Build up a rapport with them. Encourage them to reply to your emails and give them free stuff and info that works.

Once you have them programmed into opening your emails, go ahad and offer them a product. If they trust you, they will buy, but not sure about another niche. Doesnt seem feasible in my opinion.

You can sell a related niche to your list, but I wouldn't ever suggest selling a completely unrelated niche to them. Think of it this way. Is promoting that unrelated product really worth your list losing confidence in you?
