Has anyone ever have any success selling ebook guides on ebay or is that even allowed anymore?

ebooks are not technically allowed anymore but if you post it as a printed version you can always give the buyer the option of receiving it electronically instead of by snail mail.

Depends on stuff like your feedback, prior sales, keywords, pricing, what it is. etc.

But put them on DVD or CD and you're good to go selling 'e' stuff on eBay.

Then in the packaging tell them about getting faster digital downloads at your website on their NEXT purchase...with an incentive even. Don't risk switchin' up delivery options in the middle of fulfilling an eBay order. eBay is very proud of their TOS. Jack around with it and they'll label you as a POS.

If you've got enough room with pricing, add a smidge of value and have Kunaki (or similar) make 'em and ship 'em on demand. Then they'll look good.

Do you think that ebay is a better place for a pre-sale? Offer them a cheap guide that really advertises for the real thing? Just enough info to help them out though since they are paying for it.

I'd say more of a place to take advantage of eBay's traffic to low-ball a high value targeted e-thing that within leads to your community site and list. The latter is where you build that higher ticket, longer term trusting relationship.

  • eBay does have a digital-goods policy.

You can't do it. UNLESS it's in the classified's section (which, really no one uses.)

You CAN sell a guide using a physical product, though - like a CD.

A lot of people do this - even at a loss - for list-building purposes. They are loss-leaders, but those people can be targeted for transactions elsewhere in the future.

eBay only cares about the INITIAL sale being done on their site - not the subsequent ones. And you can tie your aweber (or other list building generators) into any PayPal transaction.

It's how people get to make so much money selling low-dollar items!

But, I'm an advocate of selling high-margin items anyway. I'm just familiar with that trick.
