Made My First Kindle Sale :)

LOL....its not much but I sold one for 99 cents. I have used 3 free days of promotions and have only 215 free downloads. It's been up for about 5 days on the marketplace now. I guess it's a start. Not too great but finally someone bought the book haha.

I want to make 6k per month with kindle. Guess I have a long ways to go though.

It's a childrens book actually. I enjoy writing little stories about animals going on adventures etc. I know there's money to be made with children books too.

    Congrats!

But don't stop with one Kindle book. From what the experts say, several books will show you as an authority and leverage your sales of them all.

Thanks I am working on more books now. I want to release about 50 total. But one thing that concerns me. Since it's childrens book my clients will "keep changing."

Say I build a twitter account and have 10,000 parents on it that have kids aged 5-8 years old. Well my books are geared towards that age range. But in a few years all of these "leads" will be gone so to speak since there kids have grown up.

This does concern me a lot because if this was say fantasty books or something people usually keep reading those for life. What do you guys think?

I believe it's a good idea to write ebooks for children, even if they will stop buying your ebooks after growing up. Most people always buy something for their children or for their nephews/nieces, etc. even when they don't buy gifts for anyone else.

Yea but my concern is how do I build a "customer base" when it's going to change in a few years etc.

Keep working like you are, build a list, and rely on word of mouth.

The important thing though, is to keep working.

I've found steady work for years because I never stop working.

Use this list to build an income and put some of it back into advertising.

Also, consider getting yourself a site that showcases your work.

Children's books never get old, the audience just does. Adapt!

You do not have to worry about! Parents have second kid, third kid and so on... Parents have their sisters and brothers with kids and paents have friends with kids. And if your "leads" like your books, they will suggest your books their friends "...check this author, our kids loved his books!"

    Great work! Impressive

If you do not mind me asking, how are you promoting the advertising?

Thanks a lot guys. But I was saying if I build a list/fan base in this niche won't all of my list and leads be gone in a couple years? Since the kids grow up.

Not necessarily. People have more kids.

People have friends with kids younger than their own.

Those kids grow up to remember childhood favorites (make them quality).

You can always find use out of your current list.

But you should always be adding on to it as well.
