Entrepreneurs don't get paid to cry.

I don't really post much here anymore. I just found I got more work done by limiting my participation. I do repeatedly read the forum, still, while taking breaks from my monstrous projects that never seem to finish.

I noticed there are a lot of negative posts. To me, it seems more than previous years.

I don't want to get too much into the type of posts or dwell on the negativity too much. That isn't what I am writing this post for (I don't generally start many posts).

I want to bring your attention to why you are here. You are here because you have an entrepreneur spirit. You want to build something for yourself instead of building up assets for other people.

That, in my opinion, is a great reason to be here.

Now, for some reason, many people are forgetting that when things don't go their way. Sure, we all like to blow off some steam but that shouldn't keep you from moving forward.

We, as entrepreneurs, are paid for figuring out problems. We don't get paid for posting rants, complaining about marketing techniques, or crappy products we purchased. We are paid to come up with ideas that help others.

If you can't help yourself, how can you help others?

In this day and age, you have a mind blowing amount of information at your fingertips. When I am developing software and can't figure something out, I hit the search engines knowing well that there will be others that have already dealt with this problem.

I don't think many of you realize how powerful this is.

The next time you post a problem or a rant, think about the real reason you are posting. More times than not, you will realize you are holding yourself back because of your mentality. Those people don't get paid because they are not entrepreneurs. Those people end up paying entrepreneurs.

    Good one;
Lately I have seen many people complaining about one thing or another here.
Hope your advice will help them.

I was gone from the forum for a while, due to lack of time. I came back but I'm limiting my time per day. It helps me to do just what you said - look for ways to help others without dwelling on the negative rants that aren't helping me or anyone else. Kudos to you for pointing this out. I hope others take note.

Maybe things were much easier in previous years so there was much less frustration in this business. Google and social media sites were not as strict and against affiliates and info marketers. There was less competition. Easier to make money.

People only rant when they're frustrated. Maybe they just need a clearer picture.

Or maybe these days with the increase in people trying to get into this business, it is flooded with more newbies all the time that are brainwashed by all of the sales hype thrown at them everyday of how easy it is (This is so easy even a 5 yr old could make thousands per day with it while blindfolded!!!)

Then they buy and buy all these silver bullets with false advertising and find out that it's not true at all, it's extremely difficult to figure out and they can't find the missing pieces cause they're just sucked into the next silver bullet thinking that'll be the one. So they get super frustrated never getting sales and losing money, and then come and rant about these deceptions and frustrations.

These sales tactics to suck in newbies to buy marketers silver bullets are by the nature of their deceptive claims, attracting a lot of people that are not actually Entreprenuer types and don't have the spirit or drive to think creatively for themselves and put all their drive into a real business to do what it really takes.

Instead it's saturated with lots of people that simply think it'd be cool and sounds good cause they got sucked in by some deceptive shiny bullet ad about it being so easy and it created a dream in them. They are disappointed that it is not easy and quick like promised, though they don't give up cause maybe the next one promising that is going to be true.

So who is responsible for attracting all these non Entreprenuers into this industry and giving them false hopes of it being easy? Hmmmmmm..... Then they tell the newbies the easiest way they can make money is by making the same types of Quick and Easy No Work claims to suck in even more newbies.

    Round and round we go...

Ah, ok, making excuses for others then.

I do find it interesting you decided to latch on to one specific thing in my post and overlook the overall context.

FYI, it wasn't easier in the past. We had to do a lot of trial and error. There wasn't as much info out there like there is today. The farther you go back, the more people tested things out instead of relying on purchasing methods.

If people took on the "figure it out" mindset, they would see more success.

I expect a lot of people won't agree with my view. I can only relate my own experiences and hope it helps them to take charge instead of waiting for someone else to help them out.

Not making excuses for others, only pointing out my theory as to why it seems to be happening more. Knowing why something happens is not the same as agreeing with it or thinking it's a good thing.

Though you can't ignore the fact that there are a lot more people these days 'trying' IM that are not really cut out for running their own business or being their own boss. The marketing of the industry has attracted these hype chasing dreamers so they could exploit them to make a lot of money off their naivety.

Being less info out there in the past was actually a good thing as the info that was available was better quality often and prevented people from info overload.

Could some of those that were sucked in by the hype they read and then later dissalusioned by it finding out the truth for themselves, change their mindset and decide it is still worth it in spite of how much more difficult and slow it is going to be than they hoped? Of course, if they decide that they could, having to totally rethink and replan their goals to think long term. Those are the ones that stand a good chance.

The rest will give up cause it's too difficult for them, or be too jaded by the lies and deception that sucked them in and continues to go on and be accepted, that they just rant and complain about it all to voice their disapproval.

I don't really consider most "entrepreneurs" as much as "opportunity seekers". The opportunity seekers tend to get burned on bad purchases over and over again.

They tend to deal with methods instead of business plans.

They are more concerned with how much they can make a day instead of how much value they can give their customers.

Hopefully they stick around long enough to get past that limited mindset and start looking long term.

Opportunity seekers, yeah that's a good term to distinguish them from the true Entraprenuers.

I suppose one way to look at it would be that it's getting "harder and harder" to make money online, which is creating a lot more frustration, which is creating a lot more people who are finding it harder than is promised, hence the complaining.

On the other hand, you could say this creates a HUGE opportunity for any entrepreneur who sees all the "whining" as evidence of more problems, which means more ideas for products and profits.

As most people on this forum are selling IM stuff, you could see the increased complaining as a potentially HUGE gold mine.

After all, the richest people are always on the lookout for more problems to solve.

                      This forum is a goldmine.

I have said this many times, but I always look for the "I hate" or "Who else hates" marketing threads.

I can almost tell you that whatever they hate will increase my conversions. I will make a note to test it.

Guess how much I spent on that info? Nothing... I just know what to look for and put time into testing it as long as it isn't lying or of questionable ethics.

I don't know why, but I am finding it easier than ever to make sales. People have more trust in purchasing online now.

Sometimes, when I think about it, I am taken aback when someone purchases something from me in the hundreds to thousands of dollars without knowing anything about me or my company.

Then again, I purchase stuff all the time online without a second thought.

I guess if you are looking for 50 dollar a day methods, it would be more difficult.

I really believe I have the best customers in the world. I consider them my friends. Letting them down would be like letting my own family down.

Yea I agree... I had the "shiny object syndrome" when I started out... lol.. Wasted thousands of dollars on products. Once I got that out of my system and was willing to "take action" and do the work instead looking for "instant gratification".. That's when everything changed.. Great Thread!

Excellent post Thomas! I couldn't agree more. There's no good reason to dwell on negativity, it just doesn't produce anything. Hopefully more people will see this thread and change their attitude to one of can-do instead of dwelling on all the things they "can't" do because of this, that, or the other thing...

Yeah I used to be the same way. I spent more time complaining than actually doing something that made me money. You see your mind likes every opportunity to keep you away from success...why? Because success is outside your current comfort zone so it better to whine and complain than actually do something that will make you some money.

Its like when you're a newbie or you've never made any cash its like the whole IM world is against you when really its your mind adapting to this new set of beliefs. Successful IM'ers have a set of beliefs and a philosophy in which they govern their businesses by, if you have no philosophy, you're basically just trying a bunch of things that just don't work.

I agree with you OP this forum is a goldmine and has thought me a lot more than many of the paid forums out there! And also that it makes no sense to whine and complain because thats not what we are being paid for, we are being paid to add VALUE to peoples lives!

I think there are times we all need to continue reminding ourselves that. Great job in getting over the newbie hump. Plenty of people can't quite get to that belief system.
