You should try some CPA method. Made or give away some ebook (something like 50 most delicious dinners) and lock it with content locker. Adscend Media have a good one.

200,000 per month! I hope you are building a list of subscribers. Offer a nice freebie ('The best banana cake this side of Mars', '8 ingredients NASA don't want you to use in a cake')- something like that.) Build a list using this freebie and then market to the list. Have a look at what others in your niche are selling and copy them, sell a similar product or write your own.

    Cheers.

make a list - promote offers via jv for 50-80% of revenue.

that way you can make $$ without lifting a finger.

YEs you could create a mobile app.

You could also use some plugins to make the content viral on social media.
You can monetize then via special monetization platforms - I know a couple that work with Facebook, monetizing posts on pages. You'll need to create a Facebook page for that first.

YOu could use content lockers - people have to like and share (url of your facebook page) to their facebook friends etc to see a full recipe, and your facebook page is monetized via above methods. also you can use direct amazon affiliate links on the page.

Put an Astore (amazon) on your site aswell!
    hope this helps

Just FYI about recipes. The ingredients are not copyright-able. The instructions MAY be if they are more than just a "mix dry ingredients in a bowl, add in wet ingredients, mix thoroughly, bake at 475 for 15 minutes".

So you shouldn't have too much trouble with any site's copyright restrictions. Of course this is just my own opinion and you should always seek professional legal advice

Yes with 200k you need to build a list. You might also be able to use amazon affiliate for kitchen equipment, and you might be able to kick over some sort of ebook recipe book offer or freebie that you make or that you self publish. With that many visitors as long as your bounce rate is low and you do not oversell them you should do alright.

Even if they were that simple, a copy & paste of the entire list (which is obviously what you are here advocating) is definitely a copyright violation.

And of course you may guess what the advice from me is, create your own recipes or food related products and sell them from your site or work with someone who can do this LIKE ME FOR EXAMPLE.

That is a good amount of traffic that we together could make money from.

And yes you also need to get an email list for the site.

Contact me if you want me to help you really monetize the site and we will see how best to do that.

What will they use to make the recipes? I think someone already suggested but what about desserts that will go with the main stuff or wines and drinks to go with the meals.Other stuff that may go with the meals? Soft music? Movies that go well with the meals?

For a complete newbie, adsense. If you failed in applying, I'll say go for a product reviews section and give your reviews on each product. Put your aff links in your reviews though so that people interested might go through that link and click the buy button.

Some of the most sophisticated and experienced marketers use Adsense, so don't think because you're not a newbie that you're above it.

Now with that said, I see a lot of things you can do. Obviously I don't see your site, but here are a couple of things I would do:

      * You can give away free Kindle recipe books with your affiliate. Once your cookie is dropped, you'll get paid a commission for anything that person buys within 24 hours.

      * Adsense definitely

      * Build a list as others have said

      * Ask these people what they want.

      * Run affilaite banners on the site

      * Sell advertising space if you can't figure out which banners work for you.

Wow you are getting a massive traffic. Can you post your URL if you dont mind so that we can also enjoy your recipes
What immediately came into my mind is most of the food lovers love to get a hard copy of their favorite recipe book. So you can also make a hard copy of your recipes and promote it to your visitors. Even if you sell a copy for $50, easily you can get 10+ sales a day..

    Cheers

wow funny how all the jv offers suddenly appear, you don't need anyone else to hold your hand and go though and share the profits with, now some smart #### going to come out with well we can make money together. Trail and error, type in Google how to make money from a recipe site and then trial and error. what ever you do, do not post your url, its quite easy to to duplicate your site and just do more seo than you/do negative seo to your site.

I think you can use adsense. NOT ACCURATE BUT I read somewhere that recipes dont really have copyright and they are meant to be shared unless you copied it 100% from another site..

I also have a recipe site so looking to monetize it as well.. Adsense not really good.

As far as i know adsense doesn't work on Wordpress, only Blogspot. The youtube idea I saw above seems like a good one, you can try it!

Sorry for my question, but how you get that number of visitators and you don't know how you can monetize the site, when you take the decision to make it, you start with no idea how to get money from?
Or you buy it? With all visitators already...

        This got me thinking too.

I can only assume the OP bought the site.

I simply can't understand why anyone would build a site with the marketing brain to attract 2.4 million viewers a year but not have the marketing brain to understand how to monetize that number and not to even have really thought about it much until now.

TODU - I earn only $100 from 20k visitor (was ~300 click on amazon~700 click on Clickbank). I have 90% US visitors.
On 200,000 visitors a month, why did you only run the campaign for 10 days? Also, with that many visitors and so little sales, I think it's safe to say you picked the wrong offer to promote and you promoted it all wrong.

Never mind, at least now you've decided to build a list. Having said that, I'd spend some time learning how they think and what makes them tick because if you can only make $100 of 20,000 visitors, you need to make some serious improvements in how you interact with those visitors before you start emailing them.

Try switching products around plus adding some instant paypal affiliate products. Of course "Amazon" You can ad contextual links which are hyperlinked keywords in your content. Each time somebody clicks on one of those links you earn money. I think its infolinks who I am a part of. You know if you can master PPV traffic using these type of advertising on your rich content sites can give you a nice little profit at the end of each day! PPV traffic works and works well it just takes time to find profitable urls to bid on. Unless you can afford to throw away a couple of hundred dollars till you find your return.

Sell this site on Flippa, with Escrow (for seller protection), for around 15K-20K, if not more. This site will not sell on the revenue, so don't try that route. The site will sell on perception. Claim zero revenue on this site, rather than showing a few measly Adsense bucks. That may actually push up the value to 25K, who knows!

Move ahead and build a similar site to repeat your success.

Even the most paltry amount of (verified) Adsense will actually boost the Flippa listing views.

Anyhoo, I recently sold a recipe site on Flippa.
Regarding copyright, check out OpenSourceCook blog about it.
You can reprint most recipes, but the problem is is that a lot of casual food bloggers don't understand this.
They will file a DMCA takedown without thinking.
So have a good DCMA page on your site.
