WSOs that violate terms of service...

Hi Everyone,

I looked at the rules for WSO but didn't find an answer so I thought I would as on the main forum.

Are WSO's that violate another companies terms of service allowed?

I'm asking because I recently purchased a WSO that had great reviews. The reviews were even better because the reviewers actually made money from the product!

However, while taking the training, the OP said outright that the system was violating ebay's TOS.

At that point, I immediately asked for a refund.

So, that's why I'm asking about: Are products like these allowed as a WSO?

Thanks,

Ed

I don't see how the WSO section could really put limits on the accuracy or integrity of the information in products offered there. There is simply no way to police it, I would think. If you didn't see any thing about it in the WSO rules, my guess is that there is no rule for it.

    No, they are not.

Go to the sales thread, and on that first post, hit the Report Button and notify the moderators about what you discovered.

They will make the final call.

If they decide that the offer recommends violating the TOS of a third party, the sales thread will be closed.

If this is true then I would say that almost a 100% of automated software WSOs violate ToS.

Most third parties consider automation as SPAM.

There's been a few places where mods have said that isn't allowed.

It can of course be a bit of a sticky situation for the mods when it comes to determining if it actually violates another company's TOS or if it's just a way around it.

      Hi Chase,

This was about as clear as a violation as there could be. The creator SAID it was a violation!

      Blessings,

I'm echoing Bill's sentiment (aka TPW). Any WSO that violates another website's terms of service or use is NOT allowed and should be reported to the mods.

It is important to note when you DO use the "report post" icon that you include the most salient and relevant FACTS so that the mod(s) can make an informed decision. If you have links to help the mods do their job include them.

Now, I personally know of 2 WSO's that violate a website's TOS if you were to apply the their rules literally; however, they way they do it exploits a loophole in the TOS and therefore it's difficult to determine if they really are violating the website's TOS. In one case, the violation was brought to the website's attention and they stated they were OKAY with it.

So sometimes, it may not be a black and white issue.

Even so, if you see these, make sure you report them. Ultimately, the decision will be left up to the moderator.

I think if a product is teaching people how to purposely violate another services terms of use then yes, it should be reported and it should be shut down.

Those sorts of products are best left to the blackhat forums.

I think we need to treat others how we like to be treated ourselves. Just like we wouldn't want people purposely ignoring the terms of this site either.
