I need help with the mechanics of giving away a free report

I've set up my auto responder with Aweber to give away from free report.

I want to put a link in my first email follow up where they can download it.

What's the best way of doing this?

Hi, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Are you asking how to put a link in an Aweber follow up email?

That's what it seems like, but I'd be surprised if it is because a) that's a simpler thing to do than to put up a download link on a website - which it seems you've already done, and b) If you really don't know then Aweber's help is all you need.

Can you re-phrase the question so we can be sure what you mean?

Also, After they've signed up to my Aweber newsletter I'd like them to be directed straight to my affiliate offer sales page. Obviously this isn't hosted on my site.

    Is this possible?

Just set the Thank You page for your list to the URL you
use to re-direct them to the sales page of the affiliate
      product you're promoting.

Don't add your report as an attachment in the e-mail
otherwise you run the risk of your e-mails triggering
      some spam filters.

Instead, upload your file to your server, and then send
a link to the file in your e-mail.

      E.g. http://example.com/download/freereport.pdf

    Hi Mitch,

Thanks for your instant reply. I do know how to put a link in the Aweber email. I'm just not sure how to deliver the report. Would you add it as an attachment to the email?

Otherwise I'm not sure where to direct them to when they click on the link.

Do you get me? How do I deliver the report to them.

    Cheers mate.

You can do it 2 ways if you don't have your own hosting account.

Either attach your free report in PDF format to your Aweber email. See this link to tell you how.

    https://help.aweber.com/entries/2167...s-to-Messages-

Or use a free Digioh account to up load your free report file to, and then send the link in your email. See this link.

    https://digioh.com/AWeber

Digioh interfaces with Aweber no problem. (In fact they recommend it)

If you have your own hosting account then upload your free report file to your hosting account and supply the link for the file. It will look something like:- "http://www.yoururl.com/yourreportfile.pdf"

        Hey Brannigans,

Definitely have to agree with Shaun about not sending as an attachment. Looks like everything else has been covered now. Best of luck

You can also specify in awber for the visitor to be re-directed to your give-away page ONCE they have confirmed their subscription.

For me, all of my squeeze pages for free giveaways redirect to the thank you/download page upon successful optin. Also, if you are directing them to their inbox to open and grab the link, you will find that the responsiveness is much less than if you deliver them straight to it.

From there, give them an exit pop for a OTO or rotate through OTO's and other offers using a script so that you can maximize your split testing on what is working.

I do recommend sending a good welcome email to get things rolling, but definately use an online link or redirect for them to download their free report.

    Just my 75 cents worth!

If you’re using wordpress there is a really simple way to do what you are describing.
I wrote a tutorial on the subject, but since self promotion isn’t allowed I can’t link to it.
