Tips for starting/networking?

Hi Guys!,

I'm new here and I was just wondering if you could share some basic tips with me to get started.

I'm a web designer & developer, and I've been interested in IM for about a year now. I haven't yet started building any opt-in pages and all that stuff yet, but I know the basics of it, and I have a nice idea/niche to get started with.

So, I'm not really looking for tips on how to start building a list, how to make opt-in pages, etc. - I already know how to do that.

What I am looking for though, is some tips on how to start networking here. I figure it would be valueable to get to know some more experienced warrior users to learn from them.

Do you have some tips for me about that, or just about IM in general? Or just anything usefull, really

Thanks!

Depends on where you're looking to take this. Pretty much everyone has Skype, so you could work on building a Skype network of marketers doing the same things as you and eventually meet potential customers.

A network of marketers will help you a ton in your business venture.

Yes just participate here and contact people who you feel resonate with you, and who you might be able to help as well, so you can mutually take each other to the next level. Plus just by the sheer act of posting here, you will make contacts who reach out to you. Just try to be as authentic as possible so you connect with people who are perfectly aligned.

Ah, I didn't even think of Skype yet, thanks!

If I where you I would start to find people from my own country first here, build my network with the contacts they have. I would also try to find one of the great skype groups that you can find here

    Good luck!

I think it's just a matter of contributing and being helpful. I know that there are Skype meetings on here, and I am looking for a good Skype group myself. I think if you stick around and contribute that you will network with people on here naturally.

Just start interacting with everyone like your doing here right now... Also most Marketers on here have Skype myself included.. So as pointed out above you can start building your Skype up with Marketers that can help out...

    Thanks guys!

I have a nice idea for a 'give away' to contribute to the community. I think that would be a good way to start indeed!

    Hi Egyptik,

The best way to network in any community is to give away free value to people first.

If you're a web designer and developer you will find so many people on here that need your help. Plenty of IM'ers can write coherent sentences but can't do the technical side of things (I'll include me in that).

Work out why you want to network. What skills do other people have that you want to use? Find people in the niche you want to target who are awesome at the skill you most need and then offer you services to them free of charge.

People will trust you, and you will build up cred quickly.

One more thing - it doesn't matter where they live in this day and age. Your network should span the globe.

Being active here in WF would do a great deal in networking with like minded people
Also participating and remaining relevant in other IM forums would work for you.
    Good luck!
