Youtube Description and Video Question, Please Advice!

Hello all,

I have a quick question about youtube video optimization.

1) Can you use the same exact video multiple times, with the same description, but different Titles so I can target multiple keywords?

2) Does Google red-flag if you are using same video, or same description for multiple videos?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

-Ben

They'll probably catch on pretty quick. That said, it's not too tough to vary the length of a video by adding a call to action "slide" at the end of each. It's just a matter of changing the length of time that the slide is displayed in each video.

Just make the videos different, it will be worth it in the long run, switch up the descriptions too, and just make the descriptions and titles about whatever keyword you are working on.

Yeah you can do it, but they will probably take them down eventually. If that happens, and they're working for you, you will just be upset later for no good reason.

PROmotions is a skilled back link provider so he knows.

One thing that might be an interesting idea is maybe creating spinnable video content, e.g. shoot three introductions, three middles, and three ends. Then put them together.

I haven't done anything like that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You could end up with 27 videos that way, but if you did more segments, you'd have more and they'd all be virtually unique.

Spinnable Videos are a good idea if you're trying to do lots and lots of videos, just make sure the titles and descriptions are different. There is a WSO floating around that is a Video Spinner Software.

Video Spinning works well if you don't abuse it. As for the descriptions, make sure you put your link to your money site or offer at the very beginning and use the YouTube analytics and some of the other tools out there for good search keywords that are actually being used on YouTube.

I use Mass Video Blaster in my efforts as well as Video Marketing Blaster and the results are good. Just don't abuse it with a bunch of spam accounts you bought or created with a bot. use real accounts and you should be fine in moderation.

So essentially you could create a 4 part video (in sections) and redo each section three times so it's unique, use some software to put the pieces together, and you'd have a bunch of videos, that you could blast out with TubeMogul or whatever as well.

Thanks for the replys, I'll just go ahead and make all videos and descriptions a little different. One more question that i asked on another thread is

Can you direct link a product from a video you promote using ad-words for video (I believe this is not allowed in adwords PPC). For example can you make a video that reviews a product and have direct link to affiliate offer at the end of video (I talked to my AM and they said it was Okay, but not sure if its okay with google?

    Again Thanks for your replys,
    -Ben

That's a good question. I would like to know the answer to that as well. Obviously Google will ban accounts for direct linking. But that's technically not direct linking. Technically.

We are talking about Google though, so if they don't like it, you might find out without being notified if you know what I mean.

You may be able to get away with this for a period of time, but if real people actually view your doop videos, expect them to flag those videos and YT delete your account(s).

Instead of creating doop videos, simply use plenty of keywords in your description and tags.

Another strategy that does work for sure is to make multiple, different videos that actually entertain and/or inform people.

They generally filter out duplicate videos in the search results so you may find only one version of your video appears.

I've had a bunch of my clients ask this, both for my video creation service and PLR videos I've released.

Yes, you can spin videos, and target new keywords, but, I wouldn't abuse it too much... if your video is helpful, and engaging, and not some animoto type thing.. then, spinning it a few times and targeting a few different long tail keywords should be fine. Your videos are unique, and the chances of being flagged multiple times for spam is low.

Now, if you start churning out some low quality videos, that are just there to rank... there's a good chance your account will be closed.

While not a direct answer to your question I have found one of the best ways to leverage the description field is to paste in a transcript of the video into the box along with uploading that transcript as a closed caption.

SO... I was a spinner. A video spinner. Here is some of my older work on YouTube [ artificial boxwood hedge - YouTube ]

I really got good at it. I found all the little nuances, I used vagex like a Samurai, and I was able to take 10 iterations of the same video and upload them with altered video length, altered titles, altered (and intertwining) descriptions, altered (and intertwining) tags, altered filenames, altered (and seo optimized) cover images, optimized advanced information, captions, annotations and more. I became a king... until...

I made a mistake. It cost me my main YouTube account. I got cocky.

    What did I do?

Two things. I attacked a hotly competitive affiliate product with a set of videos, and I used a cover image I thought would attract attention. All the same image on the videos. DERR!

If I had changed up the images and not used the one I chose I would still have my account.

So, what's my experienced advice? Simple. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Soldier!)

Don't get greedy. Do 3 videos max. Optimize and intertwine the descriptions/keywords so that the videos can appear in the same search but might not. link the videos to themselves, to each other, to the channel and do link out to the social networks they are posted in. Embed them. Bookmark them. do cheap high quality linking to them and the channel.

    Cheers

I wouldn't take the chance of my account being closed down. If they catch you, all is lost!

I wouldn't do it. Videos are so easy to do why risk getting your stuff flagged as low quality spam? Now there is a valid argument for splitting up longer videos into smaller segments.
