How To Contact Potential JV Partners And Get Them To Promote Your Product?

hey Warriors,

I have a list of potential JV partners that I'm about to start contacting to propose they promote my product to their list/audience and I'm not sure how to go about this.

None of these potential JV partners have audiences that are exactly in the same market as me but their audience are people who would be interested in my offer. For example, someone mailing a muscle building offer to his "how to seduce women" list...not the same market but guys who want to learn how to get women would be interested in muscle building so its relevant enough.

How should I structure my email to them?

Also, some of these potential JV partners are NOT internet marketers, how should I go about to emailing these guys who have just built up large audiences with good content but are not marketers, I imagine my approach with these guys should be different then other internet marketers.

And yes our sales funnel is optimized and has been tested extensively to make sure it converts before we began looking for JV partners.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have not as of yet released a product but plan to in the near future. I have done my fair share of studying an array of successful product creators.
Two points of advice for you that I learned:

    1. You must be able to stand out from the pack. If you can't do that, then you are just another hopeful out of hundreds looking to get JV's with huge mailing lists to mail for you.

Possible solution: Instead of emailing them like everybody else, you should send each one of your prospects a personalized video of you explaining who you are and what you can possibly do for them in return.

    2. What can you do for them?

    Possible solution:
Create your funnel and offer them an attractive front end percentage and very good percentage on the upsells and downsells. (You will make your money back from all the newly acquired subscribers from their lists) Also, assure them that in the future that you would be more than willing to mail for them in the future.

This may be stating the obvious, but you can post a thread in --> Warrior Joint Ventures

Drop your line in the water you may get a bite from a big fish, its worth a shot...

Not necessarily true, Just because someone wants to learn how to seduce a women doesn't mean that they also want to build muscles.

You can try some forums specifically dealing with joint ventures and JV-related discussions like Joint Venture (JV) Marketing + Networking Community

I don't think you'll go too well doing this. As stated above just because someone is interested in seducing women doesn't mean they are necessarily interested in muscle building. You can't just make those assumptions. The problem is if you do and these guys do a promotion for you and it bombs because it's not well targeted, they will likely never want to deal with you again.

So make sure you do proper research and testing before you approach them.

If you want others to promote for you then the focus needs to be on what YOU can do for them and NOT what they can do for you. Let them know why your promotion is of benefit to them and their list. This doesn't just mean the commission they receive. Good list owners will be very selective in the products they promote.

The other thing you should really have are some solid stats you can provide to backup what you are saying. So if you go along to a dating list and expect them to promote your muscle building product, you should already have plenty of stats that show your product sells to that audience. If not then don't expect other list owners to risk their reputation on the unknown.

i agree with what WillR said.

The way to go about networking and creating JV partners is to give awesome value away for free.

    Here's my idea.

Why not contact your list of JV partners and write a personal email to each candidate and say something like. Hey man I've been on your list and really like your newsletters (make sure this is a true statement and they're not just sending out crappy spam emails) so I wanted to give you this book I made.

You can give it away to your list for free.

This guy is going to think your pretty awesome for giving away something this cool for free. If he responds positively you could quickly write another product - another advanced version of the first one with similar content but a few different angles and then contact the dude again and say hey I've now got this ebook which is on sale. Would you like to JV with me and sell it to your list??

Obviously you would have set up a clickbank account and have the affiliate stuff done right.

Just an idea man but I reckon if you want to network with people you should GIVE AWAY awesome value first and then ask them to help you second. They're gonna trust you real quick and want to work with you because they know your a sound guy.

Hopefully they would have got really good feedback off the free ebook as well.

Or if you don't want to give away your ebook, write a really awesome 3 part article and give that to your prospective partners. Tell them they can do what they want with it - publish it on their site or send it to their list or whatever.

If you go for this route you'll need unique articles for each person you approach.

    Goo dluck man

thank you to everyone who has replied so far but I think i need to address some confusions I might have created.

#1: the example of promoting a muscle building offer to a "how to seduce women" list is just an example...that is NOT what I'm trying to do. This particular product I want to recruit JV's for is in neither of these markets and the potential JVs I will contact also are not in either of these markets.

#2: I used the example of a muscle building product to a seduction list because I actually am in the "how to seduce women" market also and yes promoting a muscle building product to such a list does work well, really well actually....as long of course as the sales funnel for the product has been tested and converts.

The post to which this was replying was deleted by another mod while I was typing it up. Might be useful for some folks anyway, so...
Won't let me make a thread in the joint venture section to find someone to work with.
"I have a great idea. Can you work hard to make it happen for me" isn't really what we're looking for in that section.

There may be a lot more to your proposition than that. I couldn't say. But that's all I got from the post, and that's what I have to go on.

There's nothing in your offer that tells what would actually be involved, although one could guess at some of it. And there's no mention of what you bring to the table, other than an idea that you think is worth testing.

When we allowed offers to be auto-approved there, we had a lot of blind ads being posted. Many were junk, and a few were the work of a couple of serial scammers, which one of the members brought to our attention. It took us a week to dig out and expunge all of that fish excrement's garbage.

There were also a large number of extremely unbalanced offers designed to appeal to folks who were too new to realize they'd probably be getting screwed if they took part.

Given that, is it surprising I'd be more strict than some would like about what gets approved? Especially from an anonymous poster?
