Gosh! Prices of Domain Names Have Shot Through The Roof!

I was previously a domainer and that was why I even joined the forum.

My first ever thread was basically a spam stating I had two premium one word domain name for sale. I was reported and sanctioned.

I am quite stunned at the prices of some types of domains today.

Back in the day, about 6 years ago, 3 letter domain names were going for 3 digit figures. The are now going for 4 digit sums. Of course, the .coms are still the preferred.

Back then, you could get a 4 letter domain name for $10! I used to think why some domainers just waste their time making a few pennies. Now, 4 letter domain names command 3 digit figures.

What is even shocking is that some previously worthless extensions tld's of these 3 and 4 letter domain names are now valuable and that includes the .info's!

I am prepared to get my feet wet again in the domaining arena. Can't allow all those $$$$$$$$$$ to pass by.

Looking to buy a 2 letter domain for $xxx, xxxx? Any available. Just kidding!

Supply and Demand at work. The harder it is to find a good .COM, the more valuable they become. To be successful in domaining, you just have to know how to easily find the highly marketable domains. There is virtually an endless supply if you understand the game.

    Here's a tip for you.
If you have Firefox, download an addon called Honey. This only works on GoDaddy, by the way. Go to GoDaddy and put in the domain name. Click on "Find Savings" button. I got a domain name for $1.17.
PM me and you can watch a tutorial I did on Honey. You will never pay high prices for a domain name again. There is one little trick you need to know to get the lowest price. Watch the tutorial.

Define "high prices". A domain is like....$9 for an entire year. I spend more each week on food for my cats

When I first started buying domains the registrar charged $100 for a .com domain. I'm talking first time registrations. So $10 for a domain now is cheap to me.

The OP is referring to the selling prices of domains, not the registration costs.

Yeah, they domain I wanted for my travel site was a .com but it would have cost me $1600+. so I went with .net and currently pay $11/month instead.

I remember when all domains were $35 a year and there was only one place you could buy them. I wish I would have bought a ton of them, but of course back then nobody knew if this whole Internet thing was gonna last.

I remember getting 3 character .com's for reg fee and buying them on NamePros for less than reg fee. I also remember selling 3 character .com's and four letter .com's for reg fee and sometimes at a loss since I didn't feel like renewing them.
