is anybody using ezine articles articles to drive traffic?

I haven't written an article for ezine in a couple of years and so just for fun I just went over and submitted one. It wasn't too fun. what a hassle and now it's going to take 7 days before I know whether it's submitted.

I'm hoping it's gonna provide some direct traffic as I'm not too worried about the link juice.

IS anybody using ezines and having luck with it these days? If not, what sites are worth posting articles to?

I remember a while back writing articles that would generate 50+ click throughs. Does that still happen?

Yes, some people are trying to. They don't quite appreciate how EZA works, though, and what benefits it can/can't produce.

Trying to get potential customer traffic from it is a mistake, and actually even a potentially damaging thing to try to do. Much more detail right here, from a thread yesterday: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8315637

I am, and I know other article marketers are. But not to try to generate traffic.

Your own site, first and foremost, always.

And there are many other suggestions in threads linked to right here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Not to me (fortunately - I wouldn't want it to!).

But it doesn't actually matter whether it happens or not. Look at it this way: suppose your article there had a 25% click-through rate - that would mean that 200 people read it, for 50 clicks. Which would you rather do, get the 50 people that way, or have all 200 of them coming directly to your own site in the first place? It's kind of a no-brainer, isn't it?

The point is that you do have that choice. Those 50 people aren't people whom you can get at EZA but not get at your own site. They're not "extra people". You just have to understand how article directories work and how to use them.

I would only post article there for backlinks, it does generate traffic but very little.
