Any suggestion/advices from Paid membership websites owners

Hello everybody , I hope all of you are feeling great
I wanna ask you guys about paid membership websites , I'm thinking about making one in the near future but I have some questions , about the content of the website , where can I get the content and how can I make people stay on my website months or even years ?
As exemple If I want to make a paid membership website about Weight loss , Can I buy some high quality 3 to 4 articles and post them in one month and keep doing that each month so people will appreciate it and stay as long as they can so they can see the new articles , I don't really know what kind of content could I put in a paid membership website that will make people stay on it .
what niches is better for the paid membership websites ?
Any suggestions or advice please ? I'll be thankful

    Wow Hypno that's a really big question! (bunch of questions?)

    What are your hobbies and interests? Best to pick something you're passionate about so you can easily crank out your own content. But you could always make a dating site ;-)

    There's also tons of article writers for hire, odesk or elance or domystuff.com etc. and there are warriors for hire as writers (check the warrior special offers area and warrior forum classified ads section). Content can be generated by your members on your forums.. Some people like to use dragon speak so they can create content just by talking about it. Videos help seo and people actually watch them. There's lots of ways to build content.

    You'll need 'hooks' to keep bringing people back. Like a newsletter, rss feed, notifications.

    I have a friend who's an NLP instructor who recently talked about selling video training.

    Would you be interested in a potential partnership?

    You get a dozen good articles together, and be captain of text content with his input, I setup a joomla site with affiliate program and do some of the keyword stuff, other brother sells his videos on there. We can offer different levels of membership on the site and figure out some way to split the profits. Interested?

    I'll have to talk it over with the NLP guy and then we'd have to negotiate the terms of the partnership.
