WarriorPlus Adaptive Payments & Old IPN Script Question.

Hey Warriors,

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this.

I'm a little confused on using the WarriorPlus Pro Adaptive for an upcoming WSO.

My understanding is that it uses Paypal's Adaptive payment system, but I'm a little confused on how it adapts to the IPN scripts we used before for the WSO Pro system.

For instance, if using the WSO adaptive system, if we put our old IPN script URL in the IPN Forwarding URL section (worked flawlessly with WSO Pro system) that automatically makes a key, username, and pass on my site after someone buys the WSO will it still work?

Does the Adaptive system need a totally new IPN script or does it still POST the same variables as it once did using the WSO Pro system (post variables like payment_status, payer_status, payer_email, first_name, and last_name)? If so, will it also send the payment_status to this IPN forwarding URL when a refund is processed? (variable value for this from Paypal is Refunded)

I hope I explained this OK, I'm still a little confused by it, and example scripts seem to be hard to find.

Thanks,
Chad

I don't know about your script, but for me I still have to use the "old style" in order to get it to work with my membership script.

You can still choose which one to use. If you are using the adaptive style all the payments come into your account first then you pay affiliates. If you are paying out 100% commissions then this can sometime raise a red flag with PayPal.

The downside is that the "old" style is $19 per listing so it can get expensive if you have a deep funnel. But then again the adaptive style charges a fee per sale so if you do a lot of volume it could dwarf the $19.

Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

    Cheers,
    Coby

      Hi Coby,

Thanks for the information. Yes, we want to use the Adaptive Pro because of some the advantages, in particular, the JV Partner Split.

But wondering if we go that route, will our IPN script that we used with Warrior Pro payments still get POSTED to by paypal once a transaction is made, and will the variables be the same if they do? (post variables from Paypal like payment_status, payer_status, payer_email, first_name, and last_name)

We really need that info from paypal so we can make accounts on our end for membership site, generate personalized emails (with first_name and last_name Paypal variable), and log the info into our databases.

      Thanks,
      Chad
