What images can I use

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi.

I'm looking for images on google that I can use to print on t shirts etc. and sell on cafe press.

How do I know which images I can and can't use??
I don't want to just use any pictures and get myself in grief

If you use the google advanced search you can find pictures that are copyright free. To do that do your first image search as normal and then click on the 'gears' (settings) tab on the right. Then scroll to the bottom where it says 'Usage rights:' and then choose the option you want.

Other good places to find free images are: istockphoto.com & sxc.hu

You can just google "Royalty free images for commercial use." Just make sure to read the copyrights.

I use 2 sites - clker.com for clipart, and morguefile.com for images. If I ever need an image, chances are one of these sites either has it, or has something I can use and modify to fit my needs.

i use Google and Flickr for searching this type of images. You can simply use the advance search option to find CC images. Make sure to select only free to use or modified images.

  Yes, the stock photo sites like Istockphoto, Dreamstime, Fotolia, and 123rf do have millions of royalty-free images. But be very careful to read what is allowed with their various types of licensing.
  
  For example, most do NOT allow their images to used in logos or trademarks unless you buy exclusive rights to the image (which is then taken off the market). Buying these rights is quite expensive.
  
  In addition, most require extra expense if you want to put the image on a t-shirt or mug.
  
  The bottom line is, be sure to read the fine print attached to whatever image you plan to purchase as the licenses and what they allow vary from site to site.

Honestly, if you are going to be using these images and printing them on things, the worst possible advice is to search Google or go to free photo sites. It's just not worth it.

You need to go to proper licensed photo sites and purchase the correct license for the image(s) you want to use. Doing this any other way is just asking for trouble.
