Isn't there a program out there for things like refunds? What I mean to say someone refunds and through cookies or something the ebook gets deleted. Anything like that? Jae |

He could be trying to rip you off, but you don't know that for sure. The best approach is to stay away from making assumptions. If this guy comes back and develops a history of refunding, I'd still refund him until I could take other action, like blocking his IP address. I wouldn't want him as a customer anyway ![]() Grant

Hey Just So everyone know, I have already refunded the guy. I haven't heard from him yet still but I was pretty nice with him. I even offered to help him with any problems he may have and wish him all the best with using my product. |

The software is called the virtual vault. It's great you should check it out. Besides that the excuse is ridiculous.

Your guarantee gives you your answer really - doing anything else jeopardises any future back end sales you may or may not have with this customers I would guess

Deadbeats can be creative critters, can't they! I'd refund the money and move on. Like others have said, this type of person isn't going to be able to do anything productive with the information, anyway. It's just a cost of doing business... but irritating as all get out!

| I had that line once too, over something as daft as a £2.50 bar of Indian aromatherapy soap I sold on eBay. Ten minutes after the transaction, the buyer e-mailed me with 'Why haven't you left feedback. Please do so immediately or I will report you to the authorities!' A quick look through her eBay history revealed that she already had about twenty feedback and did very little but complain. Not that I was fussed. I ignored her for all of five minutes and would have ignored her for considerably longer had she not left me negative feedback (yes, this was within half an hour of the sale!). Fine. It seemed a bit unfair to neg her back just because she was shortchanged in the brains department, so I left an explanatory neutral and forgot about her. Until three weeks later, when I got an e-mail from her claiming that she'd reported me to Trading Standards, who had confirmed that the soap was out of date. I explained to her in words of very few syllables that they do not have 'Sell By' dates in India and the date shown was the date of manufacture - as printed in bold above the date on the box. I sent this reply together with a scan of the side of one of the soap boxes showing her this, and told her I'd be more than happy to talk to the alleged Trading Standards Case Officer once she'd passed on the details to me. Curiously, I never heard from her again... Why it is that I attract these nutcases I do not know |

It is human nature. for every 499 decent customers on ebay you always get the odd lunatic. I once had a negative from a non payer along the lines of "I'm still waiting for an address to send the cheque to" even though the listing stated cheques were not accepted. I just thought to myself well, enjoy your wait pal. I must confess i did have a letter from a regional trading standards office who had taken up a complaint where a buyer was given only a partial refund. However, i suspect the trading standards officer was either a friend or relative of said complainant and nothing ever came of it. It was just bully boy tactics designed to fraudulently obtain a refund. |

We had a person ask for a refund once, and she said she forgot that she was going on holiday soon and needed the money back as otherwise she wouldn't be able to go! OMG. |

That's a weird email.I got a similar one when i sold and ebook saying: please send me a refund coz this product is not for me. The weird thing was that i got his email 10 minutes after he bought it and my ebook had 50+ pages. I bet he didn't even open it.

"hello i purchased your product using the wrong credit card so i will be happy if you could grant me a refund. here are the transaction details." Reply: I sent you the wrong book using the wrong download link, so we're even. I would be happy if you could grant me some extra payment, and I'll send you the right one. On a serious not, just refund and don't let it bother you. Keep track of people who request refunds and if they do it more than once, communicate with them and let them know you're keeping score. Ban their IP for future purchases if necessary. |

My theory is, If you state 'No questions asked', then refund when they request regardless the reason. If you're not ready for these funny reasons, then review your refund policy. Serial refunders are not going to buy anyway - so why waste your time? Remove them from your prospects/buyers list and move on. |

I once bought a product designed to create flash audio for my website. I tried and tried to get it to work but just couldn't. The name was very similar to the product Josh was selling at the time so I had it in my mind that it was his product. His phone number was on his website so I called and, to my surprise, he actually answered the call personally. I described my problem. He was baffled because his product didn't operate that way at all... LOL. So, he gave me a link to the download site to his product and helped me configure it properly. Keep in mind he spent his valuable time, and gave his valuable product, to a bonehead who hadn't even purchased from him. After our call I immediately went to his sales page for the product and purchased it. Two lessons... 1. help those who sincerely need it. 2. If you're on the receiving end of that help do the right thing by them. Third lesson... I've since purchased more products from Josh and promote his links (I'm not an affiliate) at every opportunity. To the OP... issue the refund and ask if you can help them in any way. Tsnyder

I recently had a refund demand for one of my ebooks because the buyer was too lazy to read it, and only ever buys software, his words, not mine. He didn't even read my salesletter properly, otherwise he would have discovered my refund policy... and no, it's not a no questions asked one. Glenn |

Fraudulent refunders... the sore subject.... I have had all kinds of excuses... some of them: - I was just browsing your site yesterday and did not realize that I accidentally bought your book until it showed up on my statement today... could you please refund? - I bought the wrong book by mistake... I wanted your other book... could you please send me your other book since I already paid? The book I want instead is so and so.... oh and after receiving the 'correct' book they immediatelly call ClickBank and say "I contacted the vendor regarding ... the wrong book.... they have not respond to me.. please refund my card...' - I did not realize that the book will not be mailed to me... could you please refund my card... - I can't download the book on my computer... could you please refund my card? And after being the book sent with a note 'here is the book attached... you can open it from another computer or any computer you get access to'... they respond HOW DARE YOU NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK? I WILL COMPLAIN TO MY BANK! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK OR ELSE" Serial refunders are so 'savvy' now that they attempt to by-pass the vendor and call ClickBank directly or send an e-mail to refunds at ClickBank. Luckily for us, ClickBank still generates the ticket so that the vendor can respond or dispute the accuracy of the customer's claim by escalating the ticket to ClickBank refunds department. |

CB instantly refund on customer demand, they don't wait to hear the vendors side of the story. Are you saying CB reverse refunds based on your comments to their "refunds" department? How are you contacting this refunds department?

If you have a guarantee on your sales page that says "No Questions Asked", then you better honor it. It's your word and reputation on the line. It really doesn't matter if the other person isn't being ethical, at least you are. In this business, integrity goes a long way. |

I just stumbled onto this thread, but I have to say from a buyers point of view: I buy, implement and I'm seriously disappointed at least 80% of the time. Most of the WSOs here on the forum are just plain fraudsters hoping nobody will implement and find out until they've made their $1,000 and move on. Sometimes you ask a direct question and they ignore you over and over, just waiting until they make their bucks and can change their ID for the next round of WSOs. Now, having said all that, I would like to thank people like Jay Extreme, and thetrafficaddict for always over delivering, answering every question in detail, and in Jays case being on his list is a free education as well. I'm sure there are more people here like those two (trafficguyclaude, Marian, Kenny Cannon, Jeremy, etc.) and my hat is off to them as well. Stef |

If you are selling online long enough, you will certainly see some great ones! I have a very low refund rate, but still there are some really entertaining ones. This week I received one that read "I need a refund because there is just too much to learn here...I really don't want to put that much work into it!" Hmmm.... Okay - now that person is destined for success! Oh well, for every one like that there are 60 others that are satisfied, so can't complain. Jeff |

I've been in the same position as the customers feeling cheated and wanting refunds. I understand a lot of their grief. I personally paid a lot of money for a reputable Warrior's SEO services only to see zero results. No work was ever done. When I demand my money back, I keep getting the "Oh, I'm just waiting for the funds to come into my paypal before I give you your refund." And then I wait and wait and still "Oh, I contacted paypal and they said it'll be in my account within 48 hours!" I contact a week later and still, "The funds haven't come through yet, I'll have to see what's going on!" ![]() Sometimes the fault is not on the customer making excuses. It's the seller who stole your money and is hoping you would just go away and die. LOL! There are just as many sellers out there making equally stupid excuses in a way to avoid refunding. |
