does HUbpages allow affiliate marketing

I set up two hubs to promote a dieting offer
I first got an auto-message saying I cant put in affiliate links

I cloaked them and submitted the articles
A couple of hours later I got an email saying my hubs weren't been published
as I was promoting something

any way around this

Yes: use a site you own and control instead of one where someone else makes up all the rules and can (and does) change them whenever they feel like it, as well as interpreting them as idiosyncratically and inconsistently as they like; own and control your own business; learn not to be dependent on entirely unnecessary third parties who can (and will) determine your income and your security.

    It doesn't matter.

If you use your own website (even it's one on free hosting, if money's an issue), that question effectively becomes "Do I allow affiliate marketing?" instead. Which question would you rather be asking?

Completely agree with Alexa. There are FAR better ways to make money online than with Hubpages / Squidoo / etc...

Hubpages might allow some affiliate marketing, but as a rule they crack down very harshly on anyone trying to promote 3rd party products or affiliate products.

Back in the day (5+ years ago now) you could make good money on Hubpages with Clickbank, and it was perfect for newbies. However, these days you will get hit with the ban hammer in no time.

    Just build your own website!

You can contribute on hubpages and send the readers to your own website instead of sending them directly to the affiliate offer. This way you will conform to their terms and conditions.

Or you could just use your own site in the first place, and let your traffic go there rather than letting some of it go to HubPages where you'll lose a proportion of it (typically a large proportion!).

The traffic you get to your site via HubPages isn't extra traffic: it's traffic you could have attracted to your own site in the first place, instead of to a HubPages page.

Don't imagine that you're going to get extra traffic from HubPages "just because it's HubPages" or "because it might rank more easily". Those days are long gone.

Until the next time they feel like changing them yet again, you mean?! Who cares, anyway? On your own site, YOU get to make up the terms and conditions and you own and control your own business.

Either you want some of your business/traffic to be dependent on entirely unnecessary third parties, or you want to be in control of all of it yourself. We all have to decide for ourselves. Some people "just get it". Others, apparently, "just don't", and imagine they're actually gaining something by using HubPages.
