Website feedback. Am I taking the right approach???

Hi, I'm a beginning IMer and I've been working on this website for about a month now and I've been unsure on which path to take. I think I've figured it out now.

If you guys visit my homepage you'll see what I'm taking about:

Welcome to IndependentCleanergy.com - Home

What I'm wondering is should I continue the writing style on the home page or should I scratch that and use the style from the other pages? I'd also appreciate the feedback about any other issues like appearance, content quality, things like that.

May I remind you that this website is NOT finished, I just want to make sure that I'm taking the right path.

    Hi,

For me it is a website like: Seen that, Done that(10 years ago) and leave it fast.
It's something that I have seen 10.000 before in my life, without inspiration or motivation to go on.

Now this not might sound nice, but that is my first impression. What I do like is the colour green.

Maybe your website will do that what you want it to do, generate leads or harvest email adresses. But I think you could do much better, if you put a bit more 2.0 into your design.
Also add a lot of content pages to your website, I mean really a lot of content and you will be found better in Google between now and a year. Look at this post I made about content results: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...t-website.html

I hope you don’t feel bad about my reaction; it is really to help you make the best of the best and make a lot of money.

As far as your content goes, it needs a lot of work. It does not sound professional or flow well at all. Further, it contains no valuable information. It is really a lot of fluff with no real point.

What is it you are trying to do with this website? If I’m trying to learn about solar energy, I would spend probably a minute or two on your site before I realized it had nothing to offer. Try researching the subject matter a little more and providing some real information to visitors about it. Try putting useful links to other resources throughout your content.

For your overall design and layout, there are a lot of issues but I’ll just comment on a few things.

The positioning of your wrapper and logo are sort of strange. The wrapper doesn’t go to the top of the page and blue logo is hard to see against the green background. Some of your headers are centered and that doesn’t look right. On some pages the content is really spread out and leaves a lot of white space in between paragraphs. There are also bullet points on some headers and none on others which looks strange.

Here are some simple tips for improving your website design,

As far as your content, I’m not sure if you were the one that wrote it or not but you might want to consider buying some content or hiring a writer.

    Hope that helps,

I actually like how you made the other pages (namely the Where to buy page). Having multiple pictures and paragraph styles shows that you took the time to stylize your post, which is very reassuring.

Your Index.html page definitely needs some sprucing. A semi-generic stock photo plus opt-in with a little text does not show me that you are different from anyone else.

Definitely a good start, but you should start with getting more content or be more clear about what you want the reader to do with your site.

    Good luck!
