A free and easy way to track it is bit.ly. After you've registered you can enter your URL and you will get a tracking-url. After that you can see how many people have clicked your link, where they came from etc.

    Good luck .

Sorry, i forgot to mention that i do not want to use bitly or tinyurl as i believe they look spammy

    Thanks for the reply though

    • If you want you could use a forwarding technique from your URL into Bit.ly. The person would never see the bit.ly URL this way.
    • You could also just hide the URL in your link.
    • You could use a software like Aweber that can automate your entire squeeze page and registration process, while helping you track impressions and clicks. (I believe other sites like this do the same though I like Aweber because it's integrated with facebook signup. (Personally this is what I use)

    Hi Vicky,

for free version you can use Prosper202, mostly used it with PPC/PPV tracking, but it doesnt matter, it still works. Prosper202 Self Hosted Apps

For paid version, you can use CPVLabs the most recommend software by affiliates,
CPV Lab - The Ultimate CPV Testing, Tracking & Optimization Tool for Professionals, it cost you one time fee $297.

    StatCounter.com

It is very popular with IMers.

There is a free version and a paid version. Both will allow you to do everything you asked about in your original post.

If it is paid traffic you are using, then i highly suggest you use Prosper202. It very accurate and gives you a lot of info for each click.

If it's just standard clicks, then Prosper202 can still work. However there are other options such as Google URL shortner etc. Even with those I still suggest you use Prosper202.

As an alternative to bit.ly and other link shorteners you can check yourls.com. It's a free link shortening script you can use to make a private link shortener website. I haven't been using it that long but you can use your own short domain and enter custom urls for redirection and it tracks the number of clicks for each url shortened.

Or if you dont mind installing a the script on your server (easy anyway)
    try http://piwik.org/

The best click tracking software I have used and therefore still use is Hyper Tracker. You can find it at hypertracker.com.

It can do what you want plus a lot, LOT more. I would suggest that using a free tracker is not the best way to go if you are looking to build a REAL online business.

Spammers use free trackers a lot and your use of them may cause you to be viewed as a spammer as well. Not only in the eyes of your prospects but in the eyes of various ISP's as well. Not good.

    So Hyper Tracker it is.

    Hope this helps

Are there significant differences between the paid and free version? I'd be willing to pay for it as long as it's worth its money.

Beware using bit.ly and budurl via email. It can
and will kill your delivery because they tend to be
on the blacklists because people abuse them.

Beware of anything free really via email, just my suggestion.

I heard that Google's URL shortener is perfect for tracking. Plus it doesn't trigger email spam filters.

    Hi,

ClickMagick is a good, clean and stupid simple one to use.

    Tracks clicks, conversions, sales.

You enter the link you wanna track, give it a reference and BOOM you now have
a link that will tell you how many clicks, how many conversions and how and where
those clicks came from because you already gave it a name.

Has a great user friendly dashboard too where you can see all of your click
campaigns in a nice tidy one single easy to access place.
