CB Check late, how long should I wait?

My latest CB check is about 9 days late and I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before. I'm bummed about CB's stop payment policy (20 bucks taken out of re-issued check if you don't receive the first one) and didn't want to lose 20 bucks unless I have to.

Has anyone else ever received a check from CB that was late or mishandled by the mail?

Hi Nathan,

I never lost a CB check before, but there are times when they come late. There was even a time when it was more than 30 days late.

So I would suggest waiting for it for a few more days.

My check times are very varied - anything between 6 - 20 days to get to the UK. Only one ever went missing though and I had to get it reissued (I waited 4 weeks though before contacting CB).

I found it odd that I checked my CB account a couple days ago, and it said that they had sent a check on "05/13/09"... that was a helluva head-scratcher for me because I immediately began to wonder if I had slept thru an entire week... so I decided to just wait and see what happens.

As far as a "late check"... you can try contacting them and ask.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably wait, but I am leaving for vacation and was just hoping to receive the check first. I also have a check sent next week...funny how that happens

I've talked to support and it is kind of like talking to robots lol.

I had one get lost in the mail one time a few months ago. I asked them to resend it, paid the $20. Changed my address from my office to my home.

Check showed up in about a week. Then - the other check showed up 2 days later... which I just destroyed.

If you 'mouseover' the Date Sent column heading there is a
note which says that if the date is in the future it is the
date when your check will be mailed

write them and be very firm with what you are saying and explaining. they will take this more serious if you talk to them the right way.
