Step into internet marketing niche. Pros? Cons?

Hi, this is Max. Need your advice, friends. I'm thinking of launching a great blog with email newsletter in internet marketing niche. I know this niche is evergreen and lucrative but competitive and over saturated at the same time. I actually have a small blog in this niche but it's just like a personal diary, I don't update it often and it gets no traffic, I don't count it as something, though there's a number of really powerful ideas and tips. I'm not sure if I should start a big game. My online business currently is a blog in other language and mailing list with over 15k active subscribers that belongs to dating niche. I'm more than satisfied with the results but I'm also interested in world wide internet marketing niche, to be specific blogging business and email marketing. How tough is it and what's the key to success? Is it worth a serious fight? What are the pitfalls? Thanks.

    Yo Max,

I'm going through something similar right now, so I feel like I'm in a good position to chime in here:

#1 - I really like the fact that you've found success elsewhere online; I've heard both "sides of the story" when it comes to IM (of it being hard to do, easier, just like any other niche, etc)... I think, like any niche, it depends on your angle of attack and knowledge.

#2 - looking into and researching launching a WSO seems to me like the easiest place to start - I'm working on a handful myself in the SEO realm; that's my bread and butter, so I'm happy to share the techniques I'm currently using with clients, my own sites, etc.

#3 - I've always believed strongly in mentoring and coaching... however, I'd preface that by saying find a coach that's going to teach you STEP-BY-STEP, EXACTLY what they know best... there's nothing worse than when you know the coach is stretched too thin, and it only comes across as moderately helpful.

If I were you, that's where I would start... mentor... research... get your best stuff together... launch a WSO... probably make some mistakes, learn from them, launch another... from there you could even build a blog, email list, etc.

A mentor will also help you "get it right" from the beginning, potentially cutting down on hours and hours of wasted time and effort - if interested, you can PM me for a recommendation, or do your own research.

    Best of luck!
