Default Should I sell high end products

I have been marketing for a while . This was actually just a hobby until recently .

I have always promoted mostly low end affiliate products . I have made as many as 19 sales in a day on a particular $10 product.

A lot of people are telling me to start promoting the higher end stuff.

Is the step from low end to high end feasible in the slower economy .

Thanks in advance for any help

It's easier to do volume on low end stuff, but high end usually has a better margin. Nothing wrong with giving it a try. You figure people are still buying cars even now.

Don't see why not. Of course the same rules apply. Find a bunch of hungry, rabid people already buying something, then move in front of them with a good, exciting offer.

Holly Cotter used to coach people on high ticket selling (don't know if she's still offering that or not), but her point was always "It's just as easy as selling the nickel and dime stuff as long as you qualify them the same way."

It's not the price that determines how much you sell. It's how badly your market wants what you're offering.

I'd say go for it. Some tests could only cost you a bit of time, and then you'd know for sure.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,
Charles

Thanks I am going to try it with my new list I am making . $150 average per day on the $10 product is not bad but it is a lot of work :-)

Hi Troy:

Hope all is well. Here are a few things to consider if you go with a higher end product.

Since we are in a recessionary market is your product something that there will be enough people you can promote it to that are in the higher income bracket? If you came out with a new prototype for a Rolls Royce it may not hurt that you are going into a market of 100,000 to 500,000 dollars American money but if you come up with a 39,276 dollar car that gets 4 miles to the gallon, no matter the creature comforts and reliability it will be a tough sell because of the economy.

Without giving away your idea, will the price point have enough of an audience with more disposable income? No reason if you have quality content and something that isn't rehashed you should not strongly consider it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

My best advice would be for you to create a funnel
with all your customers/list of people.

If you were selling $10 products find a product that
sells for about $20-$30. From there the ones that
actually buy those keep funneling them down to even
higher priced products. The ones that doesn't buy them,
keep offering them $10 products.

It has worked out for me really well but I would
not recommend selling lower priced products to
customers that are on the higher priced funnel
part. This is like going backwards.

Higher ticket items require less purchases to make good sized money. Think if you had a $3k product. You only need to sell one a month to make $3k but if it was a $10 ebook you would need 300 to make the same money.

I think people will definitely buy the high end products. People will always buy. If there is value, there are customers.

My life changed for the better the day I started promoting high end affiliate stuff... there's an entire market out there of people who will buy products priced at 2k, 5k, and believe it or not 10k or more.... give it a shot.

Plus just do some simple math... how many sales of a $10 product do you have to make to get a $1,000 commission. The answer simple.. but I know which I would try for.

I pity the fool who doesnt "Like" me on Facebook!

Hi Troy

There is always a market for higher end products, even in a recession. It just depends on what product you choose.

For example if you choose something that is a novelty/ luxury item which people can afford to do without and has suffered a big cut back due to the recession, then this may be a challenge to sell. However, a product that presents an opportunity for people to get richer from these times is much more appealing and will make more sales.

For example, we are in the middle of launching a higher end product that helps people make more money from the collapsed property market.. It lends itself well to people looking to making a lot of money from the rock bottom property prices. A $120 payout on each sale means that you only need to make 10% of sales volume to make the same money from the $10 a sale scenario. The selling side should not be much harder then a lower value product as the product is catering for the current economic situation, So in my opinion (you may call me biased) a bigger reward is always better for the effort.

You can pm me if you like and you can see what i mean.

Cheers

Thanks I know I will go up a bracket or two on product price. The $10 product basically takes care of it's self now anyway
