The scheduled maintenance was done about an hour ago, they are up but are very sluggish to respond. I expect we'll have many "fail whale" sightings and timeouts until they get back up to speed! Bill |

As DavidTheMavin mentioned there are big things happening at twitter. There is going to be a lot of downtime today and also on Monday. Personally I expect this to be all through the weekend and things will probably not be back to full speed till tue, but then I always was a pessimist!

I've read several reports that twitter has been suffering from overload since Oprah announced she was on Twitter Apr 17. Several blogs and news reports have reported Tweet volumes overwhelming Twitter from Oprah's huge following. Yeah....well I guess I picked the worst day possible to finally set up my Twitter account, huh? The process took forever with the timed out messages...  Now I'm having issues doing something as simple as uploading a background image. I uploaded it to test it, but it didn't fit right...so I jumped into Photoshop and made some changes then uploaded again.....did that 3 or 4 times. After that Twitter stopped letting me upload my background image....just showing the default after I would choose the file and hit SAVE....and no, it wasn't on my end....the file was a simple JPEG and well below Twitter's image size restriction. Needless to say my first few hours on Twitter have left me less than impressed.... Note to Twitter - If you have a plan for world internet domination, make sure you have the bandwidth first. (It's a joke Twitter fanboys so go easy on me!  )
