Links, banners on websites

How do you place your Affiliate links and banners on your website..?

I've done a google search, can't seem to get the right answer, so hopefully someone will reply, especially since it's such an easy request, all should know.

Here's a quick example with HTML:

    <a href="http://www.5FigureDay.com/?ref=312"><img style="width: 125px; height: 125px; border-style: none;" src="http://www.5figureday.com/images/fm-banner/125x125.jpg"></a>

Some blogs or websites just ask you for the image url and the link url, that way you don't fuss about the HTML. The above example is for a 125 x 125 banner if that wasn't obvious.

Also, place only one on top - I've heard that Googles prefers when there isn't too much ads in the top

It depends on the site, the layout, the purpose of the site, the purpose of the ad. There's no one size fits all answer...

Thanks guys, but I think you have all misunderstood my question?

@ Marketing Fool first, my site is a Amazon site, what I need is: an example could be HostGator who are hosing my site, I was wanting to promote them on my site, and earn commissions from sales, so would want to place banners/links to HostGator..I would like to know how this is done? is it just a case of copy and paste?

I hope this explanation clears it up.

    Hi Mikaedi88,

I presume you want to know the 'How' not the 'Where'?

You can do it as jusancy suggested with the html - or -

You can upload your Banner Image to Media on your Blog -

then insert it into your Post where you want it to appear -

Click on the Link Icon and insert your Link.

Go to Advanced options in Media to Place your Banner on the Left, Centre or Right!

Both options give the same result just different ways to get it done!
