Nice domain. Valuate.com and estibot.com both appraised it for $13k but its only worth what someone will pay for it. I have domains that would be worth huge money to the right people/companies but other than that they arent worth anything!

I don't have any faith in domain valuation software that takes a few inputs and spits out some pie-in-the-sky dollar amount.

I think they want you to feel good about your new gold nugget so that you will have good feelings toward the company that did the valuation.

The worth of your domain, if you want to sell it, as others have said, will depend upon the credible offers you get for it.

I would immediately set up some way to track how much traffic your domain is getting to see if it is worth trying to monetize.

      Good luck to you,

      Steve

Totally agree. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, period! That being said, check out comparable sales and that may give you a ballpark figure.

    Valuation software is BS.

That domain has NO back links, NO traffic, its worth .. you guessed it .. NOTHING.

A domain name in itself has no real value other than branding and this name is so general its going to be next to imposable to brand. Sorry whatever you paid for it. Its wasted money, unless of course you go by the 'bigger fool' logic, you might find one, but then your just ripping someone off.

I have a friend who had a site that seemed worthless. A large corporation wanted it for a small project and paid mega bucks (thousands) without her listing it - they found her. On the other hand, you could have something that appears to be great - like online-dating.com - and no one might bite.

BUT, you'll increase the value by adding content and starting a list.

You don't have to be genius to know a domain is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

However, a domain with this statistics can bring you very decent money.

    Freq. 99,300,000 Search 452,640 Traffic 8,934,195 Comp. low CPC $4.4 net/org Taken

I sold domains not even close to the potential (CPC $4.4) of online-dating for 1k.
Take your time to develop this domain and will be sold for a very good profit.

Im always so confused why people have such a hard time understanding this. Do a Google search for the words 'online dating' .. how many of the first page results have the words 'online dating' in there domain name? Guess how many? A big fat 0. Why because the domain name itself means nothing to Google.

The domain itself (which is what the OP asked about) has absolute no seo value.

Its not really brandable since its to general. I mean try and brand 'soda' or 'ice cream'.. branding general terms is not really possible.

The domain as it stands has no back links, no traffic, no indexing.

Really this domain is no better than any other domain. Why exactly is that so hard for people to understand?

Maybe email a bunch of existing dating sites to see if they're interested? You may be disheartened to find that they're not as interested as you might expect. But hey, they might surprise you.

Thanks for your input I appreciate it.
I believe its worth trying to brand as its not to general, does sex.com , of course it does and its general.
I am thinking of setting up a white lable dating site or trying to set up an affilaite site with the toos 5 dating sites like adult friend finder, maybe friends etc and seeing what people will pay for it, appreciate your time and believe it to be worth some money as I only paid 20 dollars for it
