Hello, I want to hear about anyone who is making significant money from a website. In my view significant money means even a couple hundred dollars a month. I'm not really looking for lectures on how difficult it can be to make money online; I know that it can be. I only want to read about people who are making it with their websites.

The other day I was on the forum and a user wrote about making 1200 dollars a month on a website he started months ago. Well, I think he was selling wheels and although that has nothing to do with what I plan on doing, it was inspiring. 1200 dollars a month would be HUGE for me and it is an inspiration to read about real people, making real money. So, if you are making money with a website that you built or bought please tell me a little about your website and how it has positively impacted your life.

Thank you.

This might not seem much, but it should serve as an example. Last week I started on a new movie review site. Now this is kind of off the beaten track for me from a marketers point of view, but I do love movie sites. I like to beng on movies when I should be marketing lol.

Anyways while frequenting these sites, I notice all the irritating things like excessive pop ups, pop unders (which only serves in a page view and no conversion) as well as those anoying update your flash player banners.

I thought to myself, heck why not build a review site, then maybe stream DMCA legal content later.

So I started to shoot from the hip. I went to godaddy and was in luck that they had a 99 cent special and searched for some domain names. I found the perfect one that is not exactly an emd, but a combo of keywords that by coincidence covers 2 major movie chains, as well as a broad term. Just 3 words and brandable.

I then uploaded my theme and started to add in reviews. I got a few indexed and now pulling a bit of traffic in.

As for now I have 2 ads and my very first CPA offer. Already I have made over 10 bucks with the little content that I have. I know it isn't much, but I love doing it in between my other projects, but I am sure I can get it rolling good.

So like many people say "start with something you love or know about" Make sure there is a demand out there and most important of all is to provide value to your customers.

Good luck, I know you can do it!

If you are looking for inspiration before you get your ass up and moving then you might never one and as well never make money.

You are better off banking on other things to make money than inspiration.

Most people on this forum do make money, some in hundreds, some in thousands and there are even people here who make million from their sites and products. Any hard work done will surely pay you.
    Good Luck

Unfortunately you can't hide from the truth, like you said it is difficult hence the high failure rate.
I don't see how reading "success stories" is of any real value. Joe Soap may be making a tidy sum but do you have his skills, his drive, his knowledge, connections?

Sorry to disagree but i believe it's actually quite the opposite...

Try not to count on inspiration because it may never come. Instead research some different business models and see what makes the most financial sense to you. That'll inspire you!

For me I bought an already made sales funnel 7 weeks ago. The IMer was selling it as a franchise so my only job was to pull in traffic to the offer which was already optimized to convert because its a great product. Yesterday i got a call from him letting me know I had made $1200 in one day from 1 sale i was super pumped and so shocked I nearly fell off my chair because i had made money online before but never that much in 1 day. It was surreal and all i paid for traffic was about $147 total so for a $1000+ return on that not bad at all just gotta keep pushing it from here. I dropped everything else and now just focusing on that.

Hi I bought a lot of wso and tried and tried. The best i made was $50 and spend about $40 on traffic. So i started my own site. Now i need to see if it can work. I will let a few people in for free to test and then get back to me. I can change it so that it work better but need feed back. If you want to try it let me know.

I'm a huge fan of blogging/making money from websites. Also, don't listen to the people that say how hard it is because it's really not that hard at all. It's more about whether or not you're willing to put in the work of learning what you need to know and implementing it. I would say that one of the biggest keys to success is finding a niche that you really like and know a little something about.

The first website I had (an actual website, not a blog) was in a niche that I actually majored while in college, so I knew a lot about it, had used lots of the products, and was basically able to write from my head. I'll go ahead and tell you that it was in the "learn Spanish" niche. It was a really easy site to create and fun, too.

When you go into a niche that you're really into, it's more about sharing and less about the money. With that said, I found that the money came naturally. I was able to crank out the content and see results relatively quickly. Since I really knew my stuff, my refund rates were like non-existent. The products I promoted also paid quite well.

Once I moved into Wordpress and actual blogging -- even after I eventually switched niches, I found that the same stuff held true. Oh, I should mention that your blog should consist of both articles and product reviews because you will get traffic from both.

    Good luck,
    Joey

in my personal experience make money online, I did not fail, but companies that I was promoting failed and it was painful experience. As much hard as you work there are always two sides can fail:
you or the company, product or service fail.

I do NOT want to come across as self serving here...I really don't.
BUT, I posted a video on this Forum today that shows me growing a list of opt-in by over 260 within about 12 hours.

For anyone who has struggled with building a list (as I certainly have) - just looking at the video might be inspiration.
Note: I failed at it many many times before I found something that works.

Just check out the link in my signature and it will take you to the video.

You can make money with a website, but you must have a well-optimized website with good content, and you have to promote good products that are in demand.

However, it’s hard to drive traffic to a website and even harder to convert your visitors into customers.

You have to study internet marketing very well. This knowledge will give you inspiration and self-confidence.

Well first of all, it takes more than a week or two to get something going in the right direction. Not that its hard, it is more like a trial and error thing... I have been earning online since 1986 on and off. That's correct, on and off simply because things didn't always work out like I expected. Anyhow, the bottom line is that as you gain more knowledge and this mixed in with trial and error, you simply cannot fail.

If I told you that I earned $36,200 in 1 day back in 2009, does that inspire you? Is that what you needed to hear?

    Take care,
