Launching Product - Advice Please

Hi everyone,

I'm getting close to launching my first product but need some advice.

I have 60 minutes of video as part of the package and I'm not sure how to make sure my buyers can download it quickly.

I have thought about creating a zip file and getting customers to download that but does everyone have WinZip or equivalent to open it?

I don't want to membership/log in page where they can view them.

Anyone have any knowledge or ideas?

    There is a free zip file extractor called 7-Zip that I use. You can include a link on your product download page to the download link of 7-Zip so you make sure your customers can extract the video files.

    Pretty sure all versions of windows come with a built in zip extractor/compressor and have since windows 98 or so... I wouldn't worry about it.

    I zip all of my downloads. It's common practice nowadays so definitely use it. I would also make several smaller downloads rather than just one big one. So split your videos up into smaller packages. It just makes it easier for people to download exactly what they want.

    I recommend Amazon S3 hosting to host your downloads.

    Everybody has as low as a ZIP file Extractor so Go for it, Nobody's going to ask for a refund just because for a ZIP file compromise right?

    Secondly attach a direct link to a free ZIP file extractor like Winzip with your download file.

    Send to a page which has each video available in a player on the page along with an individual download of the video in its mp4/wmv format and ZIP version underneath the video player.

    Also offer one file with a zip of all the videos together.

    It really is best to have individual logins for each buyer. If not a quick and dirty solution is to set a password protected directory in your hosting account - set one for everyone. Change it once a month.

    Ensure you set robots.txt on your site with disallow for the folder where you host the member content.
