It's a strange phenomenon. I have noticed some articles get hundreds of views the day they are posted and some get none. Provided both articles are using the same keywords. Why is it like that?

That's true what KateD says. I've found, too, that if you publish articles on the same subject/same keywords too close together timewise, they seem to balance each other out. A few weeks back I submitted 4 articles on anxiety relief on the same day and my results were horrific, compared to when I publish 1 article every 3 days or so. It seems to depend on the search patterns at that time, too. I get rushes of popularity and then nothing for weeks. And the rush seems to happen in the first 2 weeks of the month. Now, why is THAT??? And don't forget that Google chooses to list articles by its own algorythms, so it might be set so that if 5 articles are very similar in content, it will only display 2. So if your competitors are writing on the same keywords at that time, you will get less exposure and therefore, lower views. Sylvia |

yup. its usually the catchy title that attracts people to want to read them. maybe you could observe the titles that people use and try to make out what kind of title that usually attracts people to read. JM2C. |

Kind of new to intense article marketing here. I was hoping that is was something more than a catchy title leads to more views! Regardless, in my limited experience, it seems to me it comes down to the right terms in the right article directory with the right title. Kind of the old "content is king" idea is sounds like. |

Some articles you write will be home runs and some your write will be strike outs ...thats just the name of the game. The key is to keep on writing. |

The article title is one of the most important components for getting your article ranked quickly on the first page of Google for your specific niche phrase which will help with obtaining views but there are some additional ways to instantly get views to your article immediately upon it being approved and published by EZA. They include: 1 - Having your article URL posted to your Twitter account via your EZA RSS feed. If you have a large Twitter following this can result in instant page views for your article. 2 - You can post on Facebook the url for you newly published article - Again, if someone has a large friend base to draw on it can result in lots of views in a short time. 3 - They may have posted an answer on Yahoo Answers with a link back to their article which depending on the topic can provide some extra exposure. 4 - They may have a list they emailed mentioning their newly published article which will draw traffic (views). 5 - If they are a prolific article writer for a specific niche topic then they may have people that have subscribed to their author RSS feed at EZA and this can garner some additional page views. 6 - If they have a blog with a large reader base and post about their newly published article then there will be additional views registered. Hope this provides some extra insight and clarity to why some articles do better then others. Tim |

I guess the article title gauges the reader's interest, whether to go on reading the rest of the article or stop and move on to the next. Thanks for the insights here. I don't really give much thought on the title because my focus is more on the content. But after reading this, I cetainly have to change my style. |

Another factor I haven't seen mentioned is the competition. If your niche is a competitive one, as soon as your article is published there are many others that are getting published right behind it. This will quickly drive your article off the first page of your category. This is just one more factor to add to the mix of the others already mentioned. |

They could have gotten themselves on the "recently published" list on Ezine articles over the weekend or over night. Many times you can get some good views if your articles stick on this list overnight.

Anyway... It could also be the fact that not all articles are well written. They might all cover up the basis, but if they aren't written well enough- to get the readers attention, they won't be getting plenty of hits, now will they? | |
