Newbie status update and some questions

Hi Warriors,

I have been in this forum for two weeks now (total, total newbie!) and my first ever website has been running for a week.

How am I doing:

Site visitors: About 80 unique per day for the last 3-4 days.
Clickbank hops: I have had a total of 400 unique visitors, and 150 ClickBank hops, and 1 sale

Ezine Articles status: I'm a bit disappointed and confused on the Ezine Articles thing. I had one article live which generated about 50 views per day until it abruptly stopped.

Now I have two more live articles. One of them has 70 views and 30 clicks (%50 CTR - wow) but the other is 21/6. The former occassionally gets some views and clicks, but the latter has been stuck at 21/6.

I have modified the articles and submitted them to other article sites but I still can't get enough views and clicks. What would you suggest me?

    Hi,

As a newbie, you are doing fantastically well. Most people never take even the first step, and the fact that you already have a live site and affiliate sales puts you way ahead of the "normal" learning curve.

    So great job on that!

As for EZA articles. You'll find that your experience will be repeated over and over. Some articles do really well. Some are total duds. Even if the articles are written about the same keyword phrase and in the same style.

As you continue to submit articles to EZA, you should start to see a pattern (albeit a very slight one) of why some articles perform better than others.

But there are no guarantees. No matter what anyone tells you.

    Much Success,

    KateD

^ Thanks KateD, I think I'll get that as well. Most of the EZA guides fail to explain why some articles do great and others don't.

I agree with KateD you have made a great start and it appears working to a system that is proven to be effective.

My thoughts on Article Marketing is that you need to keep churning them out, the more out there the greater the chance of your target market seeing them. I'm nowhere near being a guru on Article Marketing but I can only share with you what has worked for me.

There are a few "tricks" to ezine articles.

      1) Total vies is usually dependant on a catchy title, being stuck at the top for the night or weekend, and whether or not it can be found in search engines (and for terms that people search)

      2) Ctr usually depends on how well your signature is intergated with the article ( I don't even use a signature, I just grab the last paragraph of an article and put it into signature) as well as how well the thing you offer ties with your article.

With that said sometimes you write a good article and it doesn't get views/clicks at all, other times an article gets lots of views. So it's a bit of hit and miss, just continue to submit articles and you'll get more hits (and more misses =p)
