No way would I say what product ranges I sell - I would end up with hundreds of new competitors

What I did was put up a series of reviews on Bitly and the number of people clicking through has doubled every month as has the money

You see the key point is to get started. There are lot of evergreen products to promote. There are many ways to leverage social media traffic to your site.

But, the percentage earned by affiliates on each sale is so low. How can you earn a living off just one or two sales a day?

You earn aliving by doing more and more reviews each day - My best reviews earn $200 per month and over 70% of them earn nothing.

It's a matter of keep trying different products and see what works

Whats good about this is there is no cost, no website, no hosting and no backlinking (I tried that made no difference when I checked the figures)

Where I am divided is all the reviews go straight to Amazon - the conversion rate is horrible - next month I am going to send some to my shop that I am setting up and see if the conversion rate improves

The other thing to watch out for is some stuff is very seasonal - best way is to sell stuff that people buy all year round

      Kind regards

What? While I'm familiar with the good old review blog to promote Amazon products (which is what I'm going to stat this next week), I can't seem to understand how you can promote products without a website.

        Could you explain it?

I just put up Amazon reviews on Bitly with product links to Amazon - I put up about 8 reviews - it takes a few months for real traction and then they take off - I hear you can do the same thing with Squidoo but have not done that yet

Yep, in the last 24 hours or so I've been researching about Squidoo and Hubpages. It is worth the try, I guess. It's free and I heard they rank well on Google.

And I still don't understand your method. Bitly is just a URL shortener...you shorten your aff link and post it where? Sorry for the ignorance

No you can create things called bundles on bitly and I have created a number amazon review bundles

I now know why it takes a time to get traction - it is not Google traffic to the bundle - other Bitly users are sharing my link in their network (cool)

Do you have to do anything specific for other Bitly users to share your link? How do they find it?

Doesn't the review bundle get indexed in Google also so you get SEO traffic?

I do get Google traffic but it's about 5% of the total thats going through to Amazon - so it must be coming from other Bitly users who are sharing.

How they found what I am doing or how they share it on Bitly I have no idea because I simply put up the reviews and have not gone into what Bitly does

I think OP is making reviews bundles on Bit.ly such as top 10 products, or famous products and similar strategy and then posting it on digg, twitter, and other similar platforms. Just my thought because I used to do it my early days, but I failed in it because I doesn't have too much patience. I was still a newbie at that time and was expecting quick results.

However, its pretty easy to make reviews on bit.ly.
Glad to see you are making money...

I remember my best week with Amazon was during Christmas Month. All from masking my urls and posting on craigslist I remember I did like 7 or 8 sales in a week. A couple of high ticket items such as a gas grill was one of them.

    Pretty cool!

The one thing I forgot to say is that I did have a website when I signed up with Amazon - I do not know if they will sign you up without a website of some description?

I believe he is making money posting reviews on Youtube with his Aff link shortened with Bitly.

That method does not work if you don't know how to get traffic to your videos reviews.

Seriously get your own website if you want to promote Amazon products...you can spend months putting up reviews on sites you don't own (Squidoo, HubPages, Bitly) but if they get removed you lose everything.

And I agree, but (isn't there always a but) my next step is to aim these things at my own site.

      1. they have been very good at creating traffic
      2. they cost nothing and many people here have zero investment money

As you build an audience you can send to to your own site where I think the conversion will be a lot better

I am interested in being an affiliate for amazon but I am not really sure where to start. Is Gaz Cooper's training a good place to learn amazon affiliate?

The AMZ Training academy is OK, but IMO it's overpriced. At $37/month, it's $444 a year.

The forum itself isn't active at all even though they use "Incredibly Active Membership forum" as one of the selling points. It was more active back in 2011, but not anymore. Although Gaz and other people on the AMZ team will answer your questions, there isn't any community feel or active discussions.

A lot of the training videos even for the authority course are fairly basic things like how to select a product within the right criteria, how to install a header, etc.. And things like SEO, there is only about half a dozen videos on it.

This is an interesting thread. You know I use bit.ly for most of my links and never care to check the bundles link. Internet is full of opportunities. Still some still complain of not making it. oop!

Amazon is one of the easiest methods for newbies to get their first taste of online income, and of course there's loads of people cleaning up with it.

I love the random stuff people buy too, just get em in the door so to speak and Amazon will do the rest.
