What's your opinion: Squeeze page first or Sales Page

Hi Everyone,

What is your opinion on how to 'greet' your visitors - start with a squeeze page or straight to a sales page with a pop up?

We're reviewing our squeeze page vs sales page on our membership site at
PrivateLabelRightsForWealth.com Membership site- PLR software, PLR packages, Private Label Rights Packages, Make Money From Home <-- squeeze page here
PrivateLabelRightsForWealth.com Membership site- PLR software, PLR packages, Private Label Rights Packages, Make Money From Home <-- sales page here

I've seen an equal number of theories on this and am wondering which one you experienced marketers choose.

Also, if you split test this, how long do you test each theory?

Thanks for the feedback,

Alex

For me the best working and giving good impression to the visitor is sales page . As it contains the deal and the product information.

I personaly go the squeeze page route.

BTW- I think your squeeze page has WAAAAYYY too many links on it. Heck, everything on that page stands out more then the actual call to action that you are aiming for.

Thanks for the feedback. I've updated the page and taken many of the links off.

I think it all depends on where you are promoting it. In some cases a squeeze page works wonders where your sales page would not. In others your sales pages works wonders where people would be annoyed with giving you their information and just want to get their hands on your product.
Example- Quick traffic to your site where you need to grab their attention fast - Squeeze page

PPC google etc I would say you would rather them go to your sales page. However on your sales page I would put the option for the optin on there as well just to cover your butt.

      Here are some general thoughts:
      1. Is your "list bait" or squeeze page a "product" in and of itself? If yes, then I'd go with the squeeze page. Your squeeze page is not really appealing and looks like a truncated salesletter. To make it more appealing, maybe you can add a sample video to it?

      2. You may ask yourself if you would buy the product immediately on first contact. If yes, this indicates that maybe the salesletter would be better to have as index page. I personally like your salesletter much better than your squeeze page. Just add a popup to it and you're ready to go.

      Hope this helps.
Thank you for the ideas. We contemplated going with a sales page and a pop up only. Maybe we'll go that route and still give away these great hot trends videos.

I would do squeeze first, to capture names, but have an AR to sell them the sales page. However, you really do have to do your own testing, as testing is the name of the game with IM. So... that being said, set them both up and see what you get for more sales, with subids, so that way you know for sure what your ROI is in the end.

Just remember the list you get can be used multiple times over, so if you can sell them with a backend AR you can sell them in the future as well, and that could greatly increase the ROI as well.

I like the sales page first idea, too. However, it may be me and it may be you, but I'm not getting any place to type my "Name and E-mail Below" at all on that page. I enabled all scripting on the page and it still doesn't work (I use Firefox with the NoScript plugin). I would definitely tweak the opt-in area if I were you.

    Alex...

Let's be frank... you don't have a squeeze page. A squeeze page, by definition,
is a page that "squeezes" information out of the visitor in exchange for some kind
of valuable information. The theory being that your offer is so compelling that
visitor's will happily give up their contact info to get to the good stuff.

But... Alex... the way your site is currently configured I don't have to give you
anything. I just click the Join Now link... then scroll down to the No Thanks box
and click on the download link.

I'm not even going to ask how that's working for you... I already know.

With a site like yours I'd get rid of the current "squeeze" page and send
them right to a sales page. On that page I'd write a clear and compelling
offer for them to opt in to get the free videos... kind of a combination
    sales/squeeze page.

Alex... a P.S. to my post above...

The blog link on your "squeeze" page takes the visitor
away from your site to a blog that has nothing in it.

    What's the point?

First off I will tell you I go about things a lot different than most . I am not saying this is a good thing :-)

If given the choice of one sell and ten opt ins , I will Take the opt ins every time . I will very seldom offer a oto . I use the free products (yes they would sell alone) to define the products my autoresponder warms (pre sells) and then pitches to the list member .

Depending on the offer I may not get below the fold with my splash pages. If you are only after the opt in why give any option but here is the free product if you want it put your name and working email in this form.

Now I know some will look in my sig file and say that I am going against what I am saying here . These are all new test sites they are not the way I do business as usual.
