Vlogging: Youtube Description vs Blog Entry

Hi all, got a vlogging question. I'm starting to vlog stuff on Youtube and putting the video into a blog post. I don't think I want to give away the video content in a transcript, but just a description.

Could I keep the blog post the same as the Youtube description, or not? Example.

Would appreciate any insights or feedback about this approach.

Would be good if you add something extra to the youtube description. There are so many auto sites that are posting the videos and pulling the exact description. I don't think they are of much value in Google eyes.

What I do is, create a unique blog post and also add the description using a show hide jscript function.

I see, like a text expander on the blog to discourage scraping. Interesting idea. I did some research and learned that it won't affect the SE indexing of that content. Creative idea!

Yeah, I vote for "make it unique". Almost always a preferable strategy. Anybody else can embed your video with its description. Always aim to add some real value.
