What platform would you rather learn from and most often want to buy...An ebook/pdf format or video format?
#text #video

I personally used to prefer text, but I think I'm starting to lean towards video. I know that video keeps gaining in usage and popularity too.

Also, there's a stat that says videos actually convert better.

All of the top converters are using video.

    It's still copy.

    Just a different medium.

I'd prefer the videos, because today, the 2nd most popular search engine site is a video submission site, with proper optimization surely the videos will bring an overwhelming conversions.

I like text...but I'm a reader. The courses I SELL are all video courses (with some pdf's alongside for the few people who like to read). The reason...people like to watch, not read.

It's not either/or. Everyone learns differently and you need to cater to ALL learning types. It also depends on what you're teaching. Some material requires more visual demonstration than others. I'm a reader, but I also prefer different formats depending on what it is.

I see a lot of video only. You need to include text too, especially if it's a sales letter.

Maybe post a short intro/highlight video with a sales letter. For a training course, maybe use video or audio with PDF handouts.

These are just some suggestions. Mix it up!

I've paid BIG $$$ for training courses and a mentor. My preferred method is downloadable audio with PDF handouts. I like to put them on my iPhone so I can listen on the go.

Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula is primarily video which I don't like. I'd prefer it be audio, but at least I CAN watch the videos on my iPhone (which means I can listen to them in the car). So that's a good workaround. As long as I don't bump it and close the screen...

Personally I can't stand video, I much rather read a .pdf. But I would sell video, text, and audio to cater to all types.

I think the best way is to provide both options if you're creating a product for example. Some people like to read, some people like to watch videos.

Videos do convert better. But you can easily just transcribe your text into video by either outsourcing or doing it yourself, so it's really not a hassle at all. I suggest to do video.

I think a few of the posters in this thread didn't quite get your question. He is asking what format you would prefer to learn with. Text or video. I think it's horses for causes. I use both. For technical things I find over the shoulder videos are received much better. Text instructions leave far too many things open to interpretation and will often increase your support as a result.

For basic theory etc then I would much prefer to just read through a text document and the feedback I have received from member also backs that up.

So a combination of both depending on the content you are providing.

I actually prefer text in a sales letter and video in a training program. If I can get both video and a PDF download of the training that would be my preferred way of learning. Video gives me the opportunity to watch over someones shoulder as they show me how they work a process I'm interested in learning. If there's a PDF download option that will help cement the process in my mind after watching the video.

Its not what we think. I would suggest you ask your subscribers. If you don't have a list then build one. Based on my experience, I prefer reading and listening to recording.

Example: 5 hours of listening to recording and reading, 10 minutes of watching videos.

        This.

As so often, marketers don't always quite appreciate this. As an affiliate in 8 entirely separate, unrelated niches, on the basis of regular feedback from subscribers I'm not willing to promote any video products. Marketers apparently love them ... customers, not so much.

text is very helpful to learn theory but videos are the best when it comes to something practical

Text or Video, the answering would most definitely be Video. Why? Well video is more enticing than a couple of pixel words. Video attracts the viewer's attention and also has audio! But it really depends how good the video actually is. It's like asking: Would you read the book or watch the film.

Why don't you create both and charge higher for video version.

I think both have their pros and cons. I personally prefer videos, because I find the learning more interactive.

When it comes to learning how to do something in a step-by-step method, I would prefer video. I hate it when I have a PDF that tells me how to do something but I'm just not confident that I'm performing the task correctly. Having a video to watch a task done first gives me more confidence and I feel better about what I'm trying to learn.

Without a doubt, text. There are cases where I would prefer a video but most of the time I prefer text.
