Can Mailing list and Autoresponder in cPanle be used with Squeeze Page?

Hello Warriors,

I'm going to get into list building, and I've seen options like Auto-responder and Mailing Lists in cPanel so I'm just wondering if they are the same things that one needs to set up a squeeze page? If so, how can they be set up with squeeze page for email marketing? May be some link with some information on this?

As I am just going to give it a try first so I'm not looking to pay separately for Auto-responder. If it's not possible to configure them for Email Marketing needs, please share some good free Auto-responders.

@rana1863 - Go with GetResponse for autoresponder - they have a 30 day trial. I think first 1000 subs is only $15 a month. If you aren't ready to invest 15 bucks a month you're in the wrong business. A squeeze page is a hosted page that captures leads.

If you want to host the solution for yourself then you can try the opensource solution PHPList. It should be available in your cPanel. Just google for instructions to set it up.

If you want to use another service without hosting the software yourself then you can check out Listwire.com. It is a free service and doesn't have any limitations imposed for the free use.

If you're on a shared host then forget about it as your web host will have limited resources so you're better off sticking to a third party service such as aweber. However, if you have a vps or dedicated host then this is a likely option. Both options will require monthly payments which is to be expected because this is a business you're running, and businesses require investments. My suggestion is to make a plan to see how you can recover your expenses and hopefully return a large profit.

  • The CPanel auto responder is only a basic auto reply system. It's good for a message such as "I'm away from my computer" Or "I'm out of the office" etc. It's really not designed for loading a bunch of messages to be sent on certain dates etc similar to a professional auto responder.

The mailing lists feature is just as limited. Even though you can use it to send emails to more than one person at a time, you will be putting a load on the system when you have 1000 or more emails going out. Many hosts also only allow you to send out a maximum number of emails per hour. (500 per hour etc). Thus in order to not get in trouble, you will have to learn how to tweak the mailing list program to abide by the Hosts mailing list policy. This involves using code etc.

All in all, it may not be worth the hassle. There are of course some marketers who know what they are doing, and are able to patch things together brilliantly. But in general, most marketers only use options not available in cpanel.
