Time to stop window shopping...

Hi all,
I've been hanging around here for a couple of months and have decided it's time to take some action. I'd appreciate any input on the following...

Coaching - do any coaches offer a kind of "earn while you learn" set up? I need a small income while I learn the ropes.

Gain Higher Ground - looks like a good system but can't find much about it on this forum.

I'm willing to give time and a little money to getting started in IM but need a small regular income to keep afloat.
Thanks in advance for your help.

There are some on this forum, you can find them on WSO section.
I think the most reasonable is Magic Mike [a friend of mine is doing great with him]

I'm glad you've decided to take the next step. Most people seem to just end up spinning their wheels by reading over and over without starting.

I'm not sure if you can find a coach that won't charge you upfront, but hopefully you'll find someone who can help you. At the with this forum you have a support system of people to help keep you encourage, answer your questions, etc.

    Yes Me!

I'm a member of Gain Higher Ground, and I can honestly say it's the best Membership Site I've come across.

You will find everything there - from Complete Newbie Training to Very Advanced Methods of Marketing - Creating Products, Content Syndication, Traffic Methods which are great - Rob Cornish has gained a reputation as a bit of a Traffic Guru so basically you can't go wrong by joining GHG!

Training provided via Video Tutorials - excellent Training Webinars - Interviews with Top Marketers .... I could go on but just check it out for yourself!

It will cost you $5.00 for a 7Day Trial and then the Monthly Fee is $37.00 - Money well spent I'd say!

If you want to learn a little more about Rob Cornish - See him here Interviewed by Sarah Staar

I might be a little ignorant here, but I've always thought that if it's possible to start something without a coach, you should do that first- whether it's playing music, getting fitter or selling stuff online. You need to do a little trial and error yourself to figure out what works for you, what doesn't. Doing this with a coach (in my opinion) can be unnecessarily costly.

Your mileage may vary significantly, of course. I speak from a rather thrifty background. If you can afford coaching you should definitely get it. The most important thing to do if you DON'T have a coach is to keep your experimention as sustainable as possible. This means not spending money you can't afford. (In the context of something like say, fitness, it means avoiding heavy weights until you know what you're doing.)

Try starting with some simple stuff that anybody can do. Start a blog. Join and participate in forums of whatever it is you're hoping to sell. Figure out what it is that you can do for free, and really get yourself out there as much as possible. Once you do this, you'll be in a much better position to figure out what you need from a coach- and any subsequent coaching you get will be that much more productive.

Just my $0.02. Other Warriors may give you different advice. Regardless, it's great that you're starting. The journey of a million miles begins with a single step. So take that next step.

    Cheers

To get a coach/mentor is definitely a good idea. Make sure you find one who is established as an IM and has a good online reputation. I hope you'll be able to find a good match for you soon. Cheers!

First of all, congratulations on making the decision to take action. It seems like you've felt the 'click'.

I'd suggest offering a service to get started (if you need to start earning straight away). If you don't have anything you can offer, get yourself over to Lynda.com (Not affiliate) and learn a new skill.

Most coaches could probably help you set some sort of service up. But you definitely don't need a coach for this.

After you've set up a service business that is making you some money, you should them set an hour or so aside daily to set something up that is more passive.

I don't know anything about GHG, unfortunately.

      Best wishes,

      Nick
