Anyone seen American Psycho? The worlds top restaurants have six month waiting lists. So what you do is book a restaurant table six months in advance and then 3 months before the date auction it off. $50 for 30 minutes work?

You need to be something out of the common for your clients to wait in line for such a loooong time.

Usually this works only for the exclusive brands.

Why not? I had a friend of mine who used to buy party tickets of well known DJs and sell them for a much higher price a day before the party.

It's not the same thing but it's pretty similar.

I have just found a site which had lots of press coverage discussing how controversial it is but the site has closed down. I also searched on eBay and nothing came up.

With resteraunts you dont have to pay anything so there is no risk.

      It might work . . . once.

How many restaurants are going to put up with this practice once they recognize what's going on?

Gaming the system - is it really a solid business foundation?

In this economic climate I dont think to many businesses are going to care who puts money in the till.

          Errrr - how about "no"?

Doubtless the restaurant would stop you booking places if they see you selling them.

Restaurants of that kind have waiting-lists for tables, require contact details and a credit-card on reservation, and so on.

They're not going to take too kindly to this, if they find out about it.

And if they can't find out about it, how would you publicize it anyway? Back to the drawing-board, I think. Something that provides/adds value for people - rather than something designed to exploit (or create) an apparent loophole - might be more conducive to a real business, maybe?

Not a solid business foundation at all. However it should work at first.

As soon as you need to cancel tables or change booking numbers you will get found out though. They are probably very used to this happening in the past and require your contact details, so prepare to work under many alias's

If you want to go in that direction, and many people will oppose it, but you could pay for a bunch of tickets for the next big game and sell them online a day or two before the match. But of course, you would not be alone!
