How to choose right solo seller?

Hi there

I just wonder how you folks, whose buying solo ads for your niche choose right seller of the solo ad?

Today I see some people offer 300$ solo ad to 100K list targeted list , others offer
500$ to 40K size list offer and I felt really confused.

Any tips to choose correct solo ad seller?

I have mainly used Safe Swaps for buying solo ads. It's quite easy to find out decent vendors on there due to their great feedback system. So look for vendors with lots of positive feedback. I would also advise you to read the feedback and look for reported opt-ins and especially sales. This shows you that the vendor's list is responsive and includes buyers.

and because there is a rating system in place over at safe-swaps its easier to see which list is responsive and whose solo ads just plain stinks. I would also recommend Nataliya Peterova I have purchased from her in the past and really liked her solo ads they convert well for me.

You should go buy the amount of clicks for sale rather than the size of the list. Someone can have a huge list with a bad open/response rate. Go by clicks, and you're guaranteed that # of clicks...

Laura gave good advice as well...

Safe Swaps isn't bad when you're starting out. The thing with any provider though is how often are they hammering their list, and how are they getting new leads? This will greatly determine the quality of your clicks.

Like so many things, you often get what you pay for. The best ones I've found start at $1000.00 for a mail drop. These people are also doing real lead gen and media buys, not just swapping with other list owners.

Thank you for great tips, probably feedbacks is the first factor I should pay attention, so I will look at it first, another important thing for sure is targeted niche, how those leads were collected, how many new contacts comes in and so on

    3 tips:

    1. watch for the safe-swaps.com feedback (but it's pretty relative)

    2. join the guy's list and see if it's bombarded with promos / also watch how many mails you receive per day

    3. ask if they also send to their buyers list - and if they claim they do, politely ask them to present you the sales page of their product; I found that many people claim sending to their 'buyers list' - and actually don't have a product to sell.

p.s. keep in mind that not always the most expensive solos are the ones that deliver the best results.

2 - how many mails per day or per week is normal?

3 - what you mean "buyers list", they send even to those whose are not interesting to buy anything at all?

Yes my first thought was that if the solo ad seller can't sell anything for himself as affiliate, than he start selling those solo ad to bombard their this.

        2. I'm going to answer with another question: how many mails per day would you feel comfortable receiving from the same promoter ? this is one of those moments when you have to put yourself in the shoes of the guy receiving the mail; I for example wouldn't like to receive more than 1 per day from the same marketer; it would drastically dilute the effect.

        3. When setting up your sales funnel, depending on your mail delivery service there is a way of separating people who purchased from you from the freebie seekers; once a guy purchases from you, his mail is moved to the 'buyers list';
this is called list segmentation and it's very healthy for your marketing efforts - since you can go with your buyers through a very different e-mail sequence.

p.s. yes - there are some solo ad sellers that don't know what to sell anything but solo ads; personally, I try to stay away from those..

Yeah, really I should get not more than 1 email per day from the same sender, because I would start ignore him emails soon and I need buyers list, without buyers list I am doubt I would make any good ROI. So the success purchasing Solo ads will depend how inteligent you will discover the list dying or already dead on spamming emails or not, because in reality many starts selling like you said only when their list don't convert at all

You need do consider one thing: what does the list owner value their list at?

If they are willing to email a million people on their list for $50, do you really think that list is worth much to them or anyone else?

Excuse my ignorance, but what is this "solo" thing I started to know about just today and where can I learn about it? Is there a sticky/FAQ/must read somewhere here?

'Solo' ads - are a great way to bring quick traffic to your site. For a certain amount(let's say $30) - people with lists are willing to send you 100 unique clicks by mailing your offer to their subscribers.

but like most paid services, they should be treated carefully - since if you make wrong investments you could soon end up broke

I see... So you have a list but instead of emailing your offer you let others email their for a price. I have now read somewhere that this can be a very inexpensive advertisement method but of course you are right about being careful. I have found a few services and bookmarked them. Thanks!

EDIT: BTW, how soon is coming that page in your signature? I'm of course interested in how you got those subscribers!

The page should be done in about two weeks or so, thanks for asking. If you're having list related questions meanwhile (or marketing questions generally) - feel free to ask me..

        Thanks,

Very First Step: Make sure the site, your paying to have unique clicks sent to, has a good converting landing or sales page. Otherwise your just peeing up wind and throwing your money away.

There really are two schools of thoughts, when it comes to using Solo Ads..

One that believes that Solo Ads don't really work anymore because the list has been exposed to so many offers & emails from other buyers of the ad, that any new subscribers on your list from that solo ad will be non-responsive.

Others believe that Solo Ads do work & are the most effective & quickest way to grow your list.

I'm the former....I would much rather spend my cash on other marketing methods like PPC..

However, if you insist on buying Solo Ads, the rules are:

    - Find a reputable source; i would suggest Safe Swaps.com,...and here - the Warrior Forum!

    - Always look for a decent number of testimonials! The more the better. Look for testimonials which suggest that you may get a sale or two from buying that solo ad.. That's a good indication that the list is a responsive one.

    - Go small at first..Test the solo ad.. Go for small offers like $30 for 100 clicks. If these work well, you can go for a large size.

What the update you are talking about?
      Primary, Social, Promotion ?

It is really very important question: how changed conversion rate after the update?

P.S. I like this forum, I got very constructive replies that gives me some "clue"

Yes, these tactics refer to the way you build your list, so they're fine.
The update is about emailing your list - but I'm working on some fix for that too.

From what I was taught when buying solo ads is -

Always test any solo ad provider using 100 UNIQUE clicks to start off with. Everything can be worked out from and makes sense using 100 unique clicks with stats.

Safeswaps is great to start off with, but buying solo ads prevents your list from being diluted down.
Also I hear that buying unique clicks will be replaced in time by buying unique subscribers! as early as maybe next year! from what I hear.

    I hope this helps.
    All the best - Nick

ya safe swaps is not bad. You can also get in some skype rooms where people are offering solos all day long and you can take your pick after speaking to different vendors and getting to know them. Make sure they have feedback, ask them where you can opt-in to their list, and ask them if their list will be responsive to your offer.
