Solution to the gmail Slap
With the Google updates and now the gmail new promotional tab , lazy marketing is dead .The simple concept of just hidden behind emails and mini sites is over.
The solution for me since the updates was to make sure i build a following on Facebook.I care more about getting Likes than anything else because then every time i post something on my fan page i know that people who liked my page will see my post in their feed so i accomplish the same goal like with email marketing .
My solution that is working for me right now is that when somebody opt in from my squeeze page to get a free download i make sure i redirect them to a Facebook landing page where i will have a much better free gift for them if they like your page .
then i have in most cases a Facebook like and an email address at the same time.
