How do you change the subject line? (Testing)

INTERNET MARKETING

Ok I feel really stupid asking this but I can't find a way to change the main subject line of a thread I posted. It lets me change the subject line of the individual post but not the entire thread.

Am I just blind or is this option really not available? :confused:

Click EDIT on your first post....

click GO ADVANCED...

You should then be able to change the title.

No, that doesn't work, because I tried it. I went into one of my original posts thinking it would change the main title, but it only changed that first post.

I know we used to be able to change them, but I guess they decided not to allow it now. It would be helpful to put it back. In my case, my problem was resolved and I wanted to let people see that so they didn't keep adding more comments to the thread unnecessarily. It's also good when you think of a more appropriate title later. Awhile back, one of my threads had a title that irked the Warriors, so it would be good in cases like that to be able to change it.

Perhaps it's unchangeable so the mods don't have to keep rechecking things they already approved.

Yep, that is exactly what I tried first time round. And it just ends up editing the first post in the thread. Oh well ... in any case my post has dropped off the face of the earth or at least the first page.

I just tried it, in this main forum and it works...

EDIT > GO ADVANCED

There should be 2 text boxes above the main post text...

"reason for editing" and the topic title... when you change it, it also changes the thread title.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going mad.

I can't believe I just opened up Premiere and actually considered doing that. It would be VERY funny though.

PS I guess Allen does have some usergroup permissions set for some folk - based on post numbers? Hand picked? For services rendered? (Oo-err missus) Or did he interview you guys?:rolleyes:

actually it didn't work for me (I just realised).

It just changes the sub title,not the main one

Hi All,

I don't know what's going on. I just went to the test forum. I made a test post. I changed the title once, Twice, Three times. no problems. It showed up on my main title on the forum each time. TEST FORUM The title ending in "changed 3 times" is the final change.

  My guess is that it works in the OLD forum, but not in this new one. So if you were over in the old forum when you tried, it probably worked because I know I changed one of my titles before they opened this new forum.
  
  I do have another question about the new forum, though.
  
  I notice some of the posts in several threads contained the 5-star system that they had in the old forum. It didn't seem to make any difference how many posts they'd made either. Some were only a few hundred or less, others were thousands. Some got listed with the 5-star system, others didn't.
  
  What's THAT all about? :confused:
  
  Yes, sorry to have to admit it... I did enjoy the recognition with the 5-star system. I was almost into the red!
