    Hey Buddy,

    congrats on taking action !

If you haven't already, create an account with Google and install Google Analytics on your site. The GA screen tells you how to do it, but there is a bit of a learning curve. Just google 'google analytics' and take it from there.

Also, there are lots of Wordpress plugins that you can install to help get your GA code onto your Wordpress site correctly. Inside the plugins area of WP, just search for 'google analytics' and lots will come up. Choose a popular 4 and a half to 5 star model and install that.

Once you've done these two things, watch a couple YT videos on how to use GA, and you're good to go.

    Hope that helps

Congratulations to you for taking action. Besides using the Google analytic, you will want o use some tracking script like Adtrackz Gold or other similar so that you will be able to track the conversion on your website and you will know which source of traffic is working for you. Just my 2 cents.

I work in marketing for a very large national online company. We have used Google analytics for everything up to this point. Only now are we considering something like kissmetrics or mixpanel for further data.

Just start with what you need and then expand later. Google analytics will mostly likely do everything you need for now. There is a lot of free training online about how to use it too.

Be wary about Google Analytics. They have a good service but unfortunately from time to time they just delete people's accounts without notice, then claim either that the accounts never existed or that the owner deleted the account.

This is not just something I read online. it happened to me. One day I logged in and saw that all of the tracking information had just disappeared. No one had recently logged into the account, so there's no way we could have deleted it. When I called a month later (I found this out at a very busy time with other projects), they said there was no record of the account existing.

If you see the link above, it should be pretty obvious that this was not just a fluke on our end.

If you decide to go with GA, and your account ever disappears, call them IMMEDIATELY. The rep on the phone told me that they only keep the records for a week or two after the account is deleted. After that, they're gone.

We're currently looking for a new analytics service, if anyone has a suggestion.

Wow. I was really glad to see your post. Your topic is EXACTLY what I am needing help with!. Thank you for posting!. I have a similar site, only related to stethoscopes.

I cannot help you with the SEO as I am looking for help with that also, but as far as tracking links and site traffic.....

For me FREE is the right price so I installed google analytics to track visitors and site traffic. GA takes some getting used to and it takes a lot of reading to understand what is what but it does give you information on your site traffic.

Also, there is a way to alter the GA page tracking code so it will track your outbound links back to Amazon. You can just search for that on the net and it will pull up the google help page for it.

Lastly, you will also see you click rates at amazon associates. At the moment, I have 24 clicks (I think they are all from me though. bummer).
