E-book Promotion Tips?

You may find this website helpful:

eBook submission and promotion. Submit your e-books, increase traffic and sales.

5,000 downloads is a LOT of downloads for a new ebook. It's not impossible for a popular topic, but it's optimistic.

Also my experience is a lot of people download ebooks, but never read them (or even open them). I'd be more concerned with readers than downloads.

If you can structure your ebook & your marketing so that you know people at least open the ebook, and read it (like offer some incentive to do so), this will have a big effect.

e.g.
5,000 downloads, but 10% actually read = 500 readers

2,000 downloads, but 50% actually read = 1,000 readers

Which would you prefer?

I would think they'll vary in what they allow.

However, make sure you'll put an irresistible offer inside your ebook to get them to download it. Put it in the front as well as in the back so people are sure to see it even if they don't read the book all the way to the end.

And then use your paid book as an upsell...

Note: If you don't have another product, you could use a high quality PLR product that is related as your bribe to get them to sign up.

The benefits of KDP Select are you can put yourself in front of Amazon's audience which is vast.

I have had thousands of downloads in just a couple days using free methods with Amazon.

You're better off setting up a squeeze page and giving away the ebook in return for their email so that coax them along with the content and market to them in the future. Will increase the vallue of the people you want to download your ebook.

As for traffic it all depends on you. If your squeeze page converts around 40% then you need around 12,500 people to come to your squeeze page... very doable in a month but you would have to invest that $100 wisely and get a lot of free traffic. Or JV partners.

Hey I've already set up squeeze page. I was thinking to go for Free Wso and upgrade my membership that will cost me $80. but i don't think so free wso will give me such an amount of subscribers. I also had an idea of buying a banner add on WF, but it will be costly for me, and honestly i don't know if i should link it to my free wso or my squeeze page. My current CConversation ratio is 40% but i'll make some tweaks before starting the campaign and hopefully conversation ratios will go up

some self-published e-book authors also tap bloggers to review their books in exchange for a copy. maybe you can try that, too. or your might consider hosting giveaways to spread the word about your work

I have a sci/fi fantasy ebook for FREE, anyone have any insights to promote this book. I plan to use this as an incentive to promote my book series which comprises of 7 books, book 2 is about to published. I supposed I can use the same ebook submission sites mentioned above. Well since you're making $1726.23 every month, without even selling a single product... i think you should stick with what you're doing in your signature. You can get your advertising budget there.

Besides submitting to the ebook directories, how about taking some content out of your free ebook and use it to syndicate it across the internet so that you will get more people coming to your website. There are many free platforms which you can use to share your content. You just need to be prepared to work on it if you have limited budget.

Just a note on free-ebooks.net

I used to use them quite a bit years ago, and just logged on to their site to submit on of my latest books.

Now they require you book to be over 50 pages, (if is its non-fiction and I am assuming it is) and if it has affiliate links they want to charge you $49.50 for a year.

You can create for free (and even get paid) Squidoo lenses, Hub pages, and Zujava leafs, and promote your free ebook. You can also promote paid ebooks this way.

You may want to try safelists. I used to use them to promote products, one of which I am still getting commission for 2 years later. That was all free promotion too!
