Layer vs. Module

So I'm creating an online course. My thinking is this:

Everyone is naming their modules as "Modules". What if I named them "Layers" instead? Basically, it's the same thing. But, it also differentiates me from everyone else.

Now my question is really..will naming "modules" "layers" confuse things for people? Some might wonder "What the heck is a LAYER?".

    Most people expect to have "layers" in image editing software... not in courses.

    Like what Istvan said, alot of people think of imaging software when talking about layers. I clicked through thinking this was a Photoshop question to be honest!

    You could try it though, to be different. I don't think it would be confusing in the context of being a section of a course.
