Segmenting email lists

I have a question, I can't seem to automate this process, and I'm afraid it's going to start having a negative effect...

Is there a way to automatically unsubscribe people from a free list, that join my members/paid list?

Real quick run down, I have a free report that I give away, when people sign up for the free report, they're presented with an OTO, if they purchase, they're asked to join a members list on the download page. What I've been doing is asking people to unsubscribe from the free list once they confirm their subscription to the members list, but I've noticed a lot of people haven't...

At first I was doing this manually, but because I've been so busy, I've now fell behind a lot...

Why is this a big deal?

I (personally) HATE when people email me more than a couple times a week, if I get emails from someone 3 days in a row, or worse yet more than one email in the same day, I instantly unsubscribe from that list. The last thing I want is for my members to be getting the same emails I send to non-members, but it is happening...

Is there anyway to automate this segmenting of my lists?

I use getresponse BTW... thanks for any advice in advance...

It depends what autoresponder service you use. I know that with aweber you can have condition like IF a person subscribes to this list, THEN take them off that list.

I am with Getresponse, here is a tutorial that will walk you through on how to set up automation.

How does campaign automation work? - GetResponse Support

When they buy something they are removed from one list and added to another list.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you Susan, I did search for this before asking here, but obviously I couldn't find it, so again, thank you...

    Hi,
If you are with aweber then it is easy, you just delete the names you don´t want and that is it.

As for the other autoresponders I don´t know.

No affiliate/MLM links in signatures, please.

      Thanks Felix,

I was doing this, but as mentioned in the OP I got side tracked and fell behind, now the manual way would take a while, which is why I began looking for an automation method...

    Hi Vinny,

If you can't find an answer ping our support team or myself directly. We can help. Understandably, the WF admins prefer not to have me doing too much indepth support work here on the open forums .

    Regards,
    jim

    PS: Susan, you're awesome
