You Can Thank Me Later... This is Proven.

I wanted to share something with you all that has been a real game-changer for me.

You see...

I have problem.

I'm addicted to learning anything about marketing.

Which means...

I hop from one thing to the next.

Shiny objects distract me.

I can fill hours, days, even months, of hopping from one thing to the next and accomplishing absolutely nothing.

It would feel like i was doing things.

But if i was really honest with myself...

I had nothing to show for it.

No additional content, products, list building... nothing.

I would feel that by 'learning' I was moving forward in my business.

But I wasn't moving forward...

...Until I discovered what I'm about to share with you.

I was able to create more products and content and move forward in my business more than anything else.

It's called the DMO

DMO = Daily Method Of Operations.

What is your Daily Method of Operations?

Basically, it means what you do every single day to help your business.

Go to work.

If you want to succeed...

Then you HAVE to have a DMO.

Here's my DMO as an example:

1. Write a blog Post
2. Create a youtube video for the blog post.
3. Social media automation with new post.
4.. Email my list with the new post.
5. Post 5-10 posts on niche related forums.
6. Add 20 people on social media.

I dare say that you will have more success focusing on your DMO more than any other method or strategy for making money online.

... if you are 100% committed to doing your DMO every single day.

I hope this helps.

It changed my business.

It will change yours too.

It's so true. I've also learned that it's only by doing the same things everyday that you can really get momentum and move forward.

That's actually alot to do in one day though. Congratulations on your progress.

  • Good advice. Getting in a routine for at least the main things each day can be very helpful.

Very very true. It's also in the action taking that you eliminate the justification to just keep "learning" because you don't have time to keep doing that.

Many people in IM have already learned enough. They just need to implement to see results.

The people making money are the people taking action. The rest are just helping the people taking action make more money.

I agree with your thoughts. But its hard to do the same thing everyday again and again although it helps in website growth.

    Great post!

I definitely find that it is advantageous to plan out my next days activities before I go to bed so that I have a plan of attack for the next day. If I consistently stick to my plan I make progress. When I get sidetracked and lose focus then I move back in my business. It really does pay to have a plan and consistently stick to it day in and day out.

That's a pretty cool idea! I've had success with to-do lists, but this seems more consistent. I'll give it a try.

Hey man, great post. Yeah I 100% agree. But its not what you and I think but creating daily plans and then having discaplin is one of the main ingrediants successful people have in common. Its called taking direction of our own lives. Its amazing what happens when you imply this stuff.

At this point when I find myself lost without having a plan to go by. I get about 10x more done in half the time as well when I follow a plan. Its pretty cool! You can make tweaks and changes for different results. My income has doubled, quadrupled by following this process. I am thankful now to see the light and acually put it to work and feel the results you get from it. Nothing compares...

Good call, definitely having a set actions that you should work on each day is really important. More importantly though is to make a list of high value work actions, work that directly makes you money in your business.

Good advice. I too used to procrastinate a lot, especially when I was a beginner. I wasted so much time reading and dreaming!

    I use something similar.

I call it my Mast Task List.

It is broken down into Daily, Weekly, and Monthly tasks with their stated objectives clearly defined.

I brief myself in the morning so I have a clear sight picture of what targets I need to knock-down that day.

In the evening, I debrief myself on the days accomplishments, noting what needs to be refined, what is incomplete, and what needs to be done the next day.

I use a simple system I was taught in the military:

It goes by the acronym ACTE.

    Assess the situation.

    Create a simple plan.

    Take action.

    Evaluate.

There's actually a bit more to it than that, including using a target analysis matrix to prioritize goals and objectives.

I have found that these methods easily and successfully transfer over into the civilian business world.

I wrote an ebook about it and I'm thinking of creating a WSO out it in the near future.

this sure looks like a good practice that anyone can easily emulate. i just hope i can be as thorough and as consistent, there are just too many things trying to catch my attention sometimes that I easily get distracted. setting a daily goal like this will really help. thanks for sharing this!

This is a great post. The way to progress is by making tasks concrete. To that end here is a free little tool that can help keep track of task quotas (no affiliation).

I'm blogging a Social Media Team Plan to help small businesses coordinate their SMO quickly. This post helped! Thanks, Dain!

Excellent advice. My DMO is very similar to yours, except I do much more than that quantity you mentioned on number 6 on your list (I add at least twice that number daily on Linkedin alone, not to mention Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. (yeah I still do MySpace and actually still make sales and get leads from it).

Excellent stuff! In my opinion, following a model like this is the only way to really get anything done.

I also use a similar method (basically a daily "to do" list). The key to success is to:

    - Get as specific as possible
    - Make your daily tasks reachable and realistic

It's motivating to power through your daily list and actually see the stuff you accomplish as you check them off one-by-one.

I am so glad I'm not the only one this happened to. I was also learning as much as I can for as long as I can without accomplishing anything really. As soon as I followed a plan everyday things started to change.

I do plan each day a bit different as far as I can. Repeating the same tasks every day will cause me to loose interest and I'll go back to learning stuff or end up in the nut house.

The day I decided to start doing what I keep learning from every one is the day I really started making it happen.

There's always something to be done.
Even if you are tired in the evening after work look at the small tasks that need doing.
Even if it's something mundane as proof reading or spell checking a document.
Once done it's another thing crossed off the list.
That's how I look at things.
