Quick Question For Camtasia Users...

I'm currently using camtasia studio 5 to make some video tutorials. I could kick myself for not using it earlier, I think it's great.

So here's my question:

How do I cut out a segment of the video?

For example, suppose I wanted to delete the scenes between 17:22 and 17:32. How could I cut that 10 second clip out from the overall video?

    Ok,

    I have camtasia 3 so this could be wrong for version 5.

    Open your project at the bottom there should be the time line/story board etc....
    In the left corner there should be a green arrow pointing downwards. Move these to the area you wish to cut, right click and select cut selection.

    Hope this helps...

      The green arrows on the timeline, you can use to more or less highlight a section in that movie. Once you have your selection made by dragging the green arrow to a certain point, then just right click and select "cut".

    First, don't feel bad. It took me a while to get on the Camtasia wagon, too. Like you, I wish I had done it LONG ago!

    To cut between 17:22 and 17:32, put your mouse at 17:22. Click and drag to 17.32. Then just cut as you would in any word processor.

      Click on the part of your video in the top part of the time line and then hold down shift on your keyboard and just select the area you want to cut out.

      That will highlight the area and just "cut" away.
