Need some help/advice?

HI!

I am not new to IM but have been away for 3 or 4 years and have decided to give it another shot. Last time I built websites with Dreamweaver and wordpress, wrote articles, promoted affiliate products ( not in the IM niche) I did a lot and learned a lot but made very little money.

I have bought a few WSO's, grabbed a few free ones and am on a bunch of lists. After everything I really have no idea where to start. I just got on some guy's list where you sign up for free offers and drive traffic to offers in return for commissions. Not really for me. I want to make some money promoting a few affiliate products but would also like to have a nice site that people would come back to. I can set that up, My problem is I don't really know how to drive targeted traffic to it or a capture page.

Most of the WSO's I have read can get you to having the site up and then it is like "NOW JUST START DRIVING TARGETED TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE OR SQUEEZE PAGE" but not how to do that.! LOL!

I have 2 niches in mind that kind of go hand in hand. You will for sure use what one niche provides in the other niche. Unfortunately in both niches there is a lot of free stuff and tutorials on the web. Even with free stuff out there I think these niches can make money. People will buy books. Both niches provide a service that if you know what you are doing you can make really good. I am not to that point ATM and would not be for at the very least a year more like 2. I am very passionate about these niches and enjoy learning the services they provide and want to get started by working them in some way and continue learning until I can actually provide the services myself.

Some Ideas would be, first start with one niche

Blog or site, not sure yet but leaning heavily towards blog, with adsense and blog on expensive KW's

Amazon and promote books and products related to the niches.

I can also accept freelance work and outsource it until I can actually do it myself. I am well on my way to doing these services myself but am not good enough to do them yet. I can put the learning on the back burner and do IM until I can do it full time then continue the learning or I can get going in these niches and continue the learning as I am working in them, this is what I want to do!

Any advice or ideas are very much appreciated! Thanks in advance
Scott

yeah dude there are so many threads on this forum that will show you how to make money, and they're all really good, for free.

You need to focus on one niche and topic at a time. Follow the route of getting squeeze page set up, building a list, and following up with them. You will also have a main site of course and use it to build seo and get organic traffic.

But then buy some traffic, ppc, and send it to the squeeze page and track the results. Follow up with your list and see what converts. Simple really, just takes some work. You now have to stay focused on one site and send traffic to it.

Sounds like you have a niche to focus on and a plan. That's a great start. Even if there's free information out there your site could be valuable if it assembles the best information all in one place so people don't have to search and read multiple sites. The squeeze page idea also sounds good - send valuable information to your readers weekly.
How to get traffic to your site? There are multiple free ways
    article marketing
social media - craigslist, LinkedIn, Facebook, pinterest
    forum posting
    Youtube videos
This question gets asked and answered fairly regularly in WF. See these posts:

Yes! I understand that and can do this! What about the niches I said that there is a lot of free stuff out there to learn the services but they can be monetized with adsense and or amazon. I don't expect to make a fortune from either niche but once I can actually perform the services I am sure I can make a full time living. I guess I should jump in do like you said, trial and error!.

I don't want to throw my niches out there but I do know that on this forum there a re a few people that can perform these services. Weather they are marketing in these niches I don't know. I do know you could not really market in them by reading a little for 2 days and then jump in. You would really have to know your stuff!

I have seen things like never get into niches with free stuff, my niches it is mostly tutorials but I know for a fact people will buy books!

These are my passions and I have also seen go with your passion and the money will follow. I believe that!

That is my plan, make a site where they can come discuss topics, find tips, buy books and just learn the service. This niche can be broken down into sub niches, I don't know if I should make separate blogs for each sub niche or have it be one big site about it all. Here is an example

learning to speak another language. You can blog about or set up separate sites on German, French and Spanish. Each could be a sub niche or do it all under one site. Which is better?

Seems you are messed up. The question is not how to drive targeted traffic to any affiliate crap, but how to drive traffic to most demand products on the internet?

also another important thing that all those 'gurus' do it first than leave you very tiny space to promote it and very soon that product become outdated. Smart buying doing smart research for product they want to buy.

so gurus give you a garbage in affiliate marketing if you keeps following them.

They takes all profit, if that stop being profitable, they stat teaching others to do the same - that is unspoken assumption, that every newbie should know.

Don't follow guides as a worker! As being a newbie best strategies is to match two different 'gurus strategies' that would combine each other ...

ATM I am not really concerned about products. I am not marketing to anything to do with IM. I want to get a good informative site up, get a list and get a following in the niche. I will probably just have adsense on it to begin with. Once I start getting some good traffic then start introducing some products. I am liking the idea of traffic from FB, twitter, linkdin, creagslist etc... now I just have to learn how to get it.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should structure this site? like I said it has sub niches. I can set up separate sites on each sub topic, I could do it all on one site which I would also like to put a forum.

I could do the one site covers all then set up Squiddo and hubpage sites on the sub niches pointing to the main site. I like this idea but don't know which is better so anyone with advice please offer it up!!!
