Is linking to YouTube videos legal?

Can I get in trouble for linking to third parties YouTube video? I want to link some reviews of the products but the reviews are done by someone else. Is this allowed?

Link as in Share video under my products as see what others think

If you have permission from the third party reviewer, why not?

As a rule of thumb, as long as the content is yours or you have permission to use the content of others, then all is fine.

Get in trouble for linking? Course not. You won't get in trouble for that.

Better yet, embed the YT videos on your pages so you don't have to send the traffic away.

This is perfectly legal too, as owners of the videos have the ability to disallow embedding if they choose. YT will even give you the embed code for those that allow their videos to be embedded, which is the vast majority of all video owners.

Then you don't have problems, many YT posters have others' materials anyway on their channels.

If you're really concerned, double-check the license of the video... Most I've come across can be embedded without permission if not changed.

Yeah embedding of YouTube videos is also legal. I mean if you are going to make a blog like this one you will be fine.

while this subject is here, can i ask, if i embed some videos of recipes being made and the people making them do not have a webpage on their you tube video description to link to, and if i embed their video on my recipe blog etc do i have to write something like "video brought to you courtesty of blah blah blah". i guess its worth picking the ones that dont have website so traffic does not leave my site to theirs. hows best to acknowledge them and is there anytime you dont have to

If YT offers the embed code, you can embed the video. Don't worry about giving credit. It's up to the person that makes the video to add "credits" if they wish.

Ya you can link to other peoples youtube videos. That's what they want. If you embed their video then they have a setting which is allowing you to do so, and by you embeding it on your site they're getting some seo juice

Yes the embed in there for a reason. There is some SEO link juice happening and if you share their video it can go viral. That is how the marketers writing reviews get their name out there. The more people sharing and embedding their videos the better for them.
