How Long Has Twitter Been Suspending Its Members For Aggressive Following?

A few years ago I started a Twitter account and was able to follow all the people I wanted without any issues. But recently, I tried to do the same thing and Twitter suspended my account twice. The first time I was able to get my account reinstated simply by agreeing to their terms. But the second time I actually had to contact them and promise that I wouldn't do it ever again. In case you don't know what aggressive following is, it's basically following a bunch of people at a rapid pace. You can follow 30 people a day and still get suspended for aggressive following. So the question I have is how long has Twitter been doing this?

They have always enforced the TOS, there bots are just getting better. You need something like tweetanaire, Chris does the best programs and I can get tons of followers in just a matter of weeks.

This has been going on for a long time. Don't get too aggressive, man. Make your follow patterns look as 'natural' as possible...

They've been doing it forever. Just follow and interact with a few people every few hours and you'll see your follower count start to climb.
